compost with tea bags?
    #21766078 - 06/05/15 02:09 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

My work tossed soon many tea bags and it's seems like such a waste. Was thinking of saving and utilizing in the garden and stuff. Would there be any benefits? It's soo fluffy and airy I bet it at least help to make good soil and hopes the caffeine would be good too

Probably wouldn't hurt to add some But I wouldn't get too crazy tea is very acidic. And no caffiene does not affect plants.

Yeah it can help some plants but it could hurt others that require a neutral or alkaline soil. It's probably best if it's just used on acid-loving plants (like roses), as it may lower the PH of the soil
Or if you have a compost pile you could add to that, it will help to enrich the soil but don't go too crazy as it is acidic so it needs some balance.
I would think it would be best served in a compost pile so it can decompose with other stuff as opposed to adding directly to the soil where it may throw PH levels off.
