Possible vert?
    #21765602 - 06/05/15 11:54 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I was looking at my maz tub today getting ready to harvest when I noticed a few hairlip caps...Also all of the fruits are tiny and the second tub I have from the same plate looks like it is blobbing while eating the cvg casing.

This one had a hole

It looked clean on agar but I don't think I'm experienced enough yet to distinguish cube myc from vert myc. Key word being yet now that I think I'm dealing with it :paranoid:

I have removed the poly from the top holes and wont mist it any longer. Anything else I can do to help curb it? Or am I worrying over nothing?

I wanna shrink real small and go slay some vert bodies :starwars:

Haha its all good hombre. It's mutation/genetics. Both the hair lip and the hole. The spots are from still water. Probably drips from the lid. The white spots are mycelium spots. It's normal and the blackness looks like casing bits lol. So you're overreacting

I've read that hairlip is a telltale sign of vert. It's a stealthy white mold that can originate from a dirty print and continue on in the next generation of prints....

Experience trumps book knowledge most the time, at least in my opinion.

I really want a scope....

I've never personally had vert but looking at pictures of it, I highly doubt you've got it. Show pics of the stems after harvest if you're worried but your mushrooms look healthy. I've seen plenty of mutants do strange shit. My money is on normal and edible

This is all correct. I have a perfect example.

So it goes without saying that this plate is totally fucked, but only the area directly at 12 o'clock has any cube myc in it. The rest is all vert. This is a side effect of having too many plates going. I didn't even notice this until it was too late to transfer.

The untrained eye would probably think this plate is okay because it's white, but trust me. It's nearly all vert.

That tub had all kinds of mutants and shit.

It was one of 5 tubs that I cased with 50/50 and it was my first time using it. Must have fucked the pasteurization because 4/5 have contam'd so far :frown:

This Maz tub showed green right after I harvested, later that day or the next morning I think.

Yeah a lot of people mistake vert contamination for mutants. Just sayin.

I agree. Vert is no joke to deal with.

It could be vert, trich, mutants, some other mold, bacteria, etc.

My luck it's all the above working together

It comes in waves for me. I got the vert in my grow room under control and now I'm having somewhat of a trich flare up. I'm gonna clean the room really well before I spawn any more tubs.

Exactly. Last time I fucked up a pasteurization I got horrible trich. The jar fell over and it got way too hot. I was stupid to use it anyway.

I shoot for an hour between 145 and 165. I get this by killing the heat at 130.
