Gnat problem
    #21765544 - 06/05/15 11:37 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I have gnats in my fruiting chamber. Would it be alright to put a couple of jars of white vinegar in the fruiting chamber? If not what else can I do?

Look for a spray called worry free. It's in insect control aisles at big name stores and online obviously.

It kills gnats but doesn't effect mycelium and it's been very successful for lots of people with bug problems.

Aim for the babies and the gnats themselves. I'm pretty sure it's fine. You can wash them for a sense of security though.

Taken from the label on the bottle itself:
Quote:

May be used on edible crops up to and including day of harvest

I'd wash the fruits to be on the safe side, but you want to spray the gnats and eggs.

Cut a section of fly tape. Not long enough to touch anything. Hang it inside the chamber. It's not the cleanest thing but neither is the filthy knats.

I'd experiment with neem oil around the area.
