I usually just eye it and mix it up. Never really measured. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good ratio ..

Well for outdoors it's best to have low ratios with grains so animals stay away. Could even slurry it and expand it that much further. Like 1 jar for the bed. Pf tek you'd be good with anything from 1:10-1:2.

Haha oh I'd just do 5050. You could do pure straw or manure and it'd still work.
You could do a few separate beds all with different ratios for science! :]

Right on. I tried all straw one year and it didnt perform so great. There were some factors that may have contributed such as not chopping small enough. Ive got that part down now with a leaf chopper. Thing is beast. I do a bale in like 40 mins. Used to use lawn mower which worked good but made a huge mess and was just alot more labor intensive between sweeping it up and bagging. Also usually had to go over it 2 or 3 times. Anyway. I found a mix of straw and manure to have had best results for me. Although i havent done just manure ill likely do a small bed of it. I dont wana do just one of either as im trying to stretch them out more. Also found just straw tends to dry out alot quicker. The added nutrients from the manure im sure help. Thabks for the advice!
