An observation about my spawn run
    #21763367 - 06/04/15 09:10 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I had an observation today and wanted to see if anyone can confirm.

3 tubs all made with the same spawn ratios. The first 2 tubs were from grain bags inoculated with agar wedges, the 3rd tub was from grain bags inoculated with lc.

The lc tub got put into fruiting today while the agar tubs are lagging several days behind. Same genetics with the exception the wedge grain bags are somewhat older but not by a huge margin.

Given how lc explodes in growth after recovery does this a always carry over into spawn run in subs? I'm guessing since the lc is so young in terms of cell division that is why spawn run is faster?

Genetics? Generally agar should be faster if you isolated aggressive areas. I'd say it's probably because lc has so much more expansion during inoculation whereas agar only goes from the wedge and a few grains it rubbed off when you initially mix it.

Tl; dr lc has more inoculation points

Same exact genetics. And I'm not talking about speed of colonization of spawn, I'm talking about speed of colonization of substrate with already colonized spawn.

Same sized bags were used on all 3 tubs so roughly same amount of inoculation points in the sub

So you've seen the speed carry over into spawn run as well azur?
