I think confusing the OP with me and someone else is something a drug addict would say Sprinkles.
Put the crack down slowly now

ok so if op hypothetically didnt have insomnia and was using this drug a lot and his friend threw away his pills, his friend is viewed as being bad because it is op's choice and he can do whatever he wants. have you ever had proper friends or family..hypothetically his friend would be helping him out because he doesn't want his friend to be in that position. but obviously he isnt in real life

His friend would still be in the wrong. It's not his place to go and flush someone's stash because he doesn't agree with his friend's life decisions. You don't cure an addict by taking their stash, especially when it comes to benzos. Withdrawal can kill you. Do you play Russian Roulette on your friends? Because that's what you're doing when you decide "My friend needs to quit the benzos so I'm removing his access".
Beyond that, there is monetary loss and mental anguish. 2 more things you don't inflict on friends because you think it's the right thing to do.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline

Everyone has trouble sleeping. We would all like to take a magical pill that makes us fall asleep instantly.
The reality is sleeping medication is a short term solution to a long term problem. You need to practice methods to get a good night sleep. Get lots of exercise, eat healthy, set a sleep schedule. Don't go on the computer all day and pop temazapam and expect your problems to be solved.

Look dude. Don't do anything that can be linked to you, including posting what you plan on doing. With that said, I'd save up money to move, or kick him out and pay the rent yourself. If you order spores now, you can can have mushrooms in 3 months tops. Then take him to court and tell them the truth. He never paid you back for loans.
And call the cops from a payphone and tell them you saw that make a model waving a gun out of his car and they'll get him on his way to work for sure.

For one thing, benzo withdrawals are nothing to fuck with. If someone is physically addicted to benzos, you can't just throw their drugs away like an asshole because you might put them in a life threatening situation.
And secondly, throwing away someones pills is just a retarded way to "help" someone. It wastes money, it doesn't actually help them deal with their addiction it just throws them head first into the worst parts of it, and it makes them resent you for treating them like a child. In most cases an addict can just tear off to find new drugs, unless you want to fuckin detain them somehow, which is even more crazy.
Some "real friend" you are.

the fuck are you talking about? of course its HIS CHOICE. taking away medication from someone doesnt help them
case in point : Warfarin(aka Coumadin) is rat poison. it was origionally developed to kill rodents.
fun fact? coumadin is a very important medication for some people. what happens when you take it away from them? their blood turns to sludge and they die of a heart attack
so do you really think that one particular context(warfarin being rat poison) means you should forcefully take that drug away from every person who uses it?

Sometimes an addict needs help to stop. His friend may have been concerned about his benzo addiction, who knows. We will never hear his side of the story.
Where I live we call it "tough love".

All the more reason to take time to work on it. Not have your medicine go missing suddenly.
"proper" friends and family would understand that as shroomslip said it is OP's choice. Good friends/ family would know they need to be supportive and encouraging.
Maybe help him plan out alternatives he could sleep without it, and help him get off. Flushing someones stash is just fucked up...
Maybe if Psycho was shooting up heroin I would agree with flushing his stash, or doing 25i or some shit. Sleeping meds though? Are you kidding me?
And that is coming from someone who has never used them and hates pharmaceuticals...

the only thing that matters now really is how much OP has been taking. Are you going to start seizing now from withdrawl? Obviously you were addicted to them.

My parents flushed my drugs and stuff plenty of times back when I was an addict and if I could go back in time instead of getting pissed at them I would shake their hand and tip my cap to them.
For all we know his friend was tired of seeing OP zonked out on sleeping meds all the time and wanted his friend back. Tough love is sometimes the best love.

Insomnia isn't just a little problem sleeping. Insomnia is the inability to sleep. I'm tired of people not understanding this. Every time it's brought up someone has to chime in with "natural remedies" like they understand what it is. For simplicity's sake, the lights simply DO NOT turn off. You can lay in bed for hours, perfectly still, eyes shut the entire time, relaxing, and you do not go to sleep. You can change your diet, spend all day in the sun, not use a computer, exercise, meditate, and do every other single damn thing everyone always feels compelled to suggest and it does not make a difference. You will sleep when, and only when, your body and mind finally decides it can go no longer.
I will give you that doctor's are overly prescribe happy and that plenty of people who just have a little difficulty sleeping often call themselves insomniacs, but do not underestimate full blown, full fledged insomnia. The only people who seem to understand what it's like, are those who suffer from it. No one else seems to grasp the idea of simply not being able to sleep.

The difference BC is that op is taking the "drug" as "medicine" I highly doubt when your parents flushed your stash it was full of sleeping pills, being used for sleeping...
Flushing your drug abusing kids stash is way different than flushing your roommates meds.
For one THEY ARE YOUR PARENTS. It was most likely HIS ROOMATE. Parents at last have a right to guide and make choices for their kids to some extent.
A roommate who allegedly owes you money? Hell no.

He didn't flush my stash you fuck.
He flushed LEGITIMATE prescription written to me by a fucking doctor. It was my God damn medication. I don't take temazepam for fun. I don't think anyone would.

Shroomslip, thank you for typing out the horrors of insomnia. I'm far to upset to have that level of intelligent discussion right now.
It's not a drug I cop on the corner. I've also tried probably 6 other drugs.
Seroquel is the devil. Ambien works if you want to unconsciously make thanksgiving turkey at 3 am in July. Any of the diphenhydramine pills don't work, they either don't make me tired, or give me restless legs.
Taking medication to sleep is not my first fucking choice. I've tried all your hippy bullshit meditation and eating healthy and it's a load of hoity toity fucking bullshit.
Also the reason I never mentioned the money is because I don't care. Who cares. We're born with nothing we die with nothing. If I have to shell out an extra 500 bucks a month to keep someone fed, and keep them from being homeless that's okay with me.

everything you say is exactly what a person who is seriously addicted says. you have a problem and it is important you know that benzo withdrawl can cause death, likely from seizing, so you might want to call somebody if you were taking more than prescribed and you think that may happen to you. good luck.

I don't take them during the day, I take them to sleep, and only when I can't. I do not take them everyday.
You have no right to even talk about a benzo addiction.
