So, I nosed around a little bit while the wife ran to the store, found some more....
Check out the blue staining on this piece of wood...

Here's a few more for the collection...

Take care all, happy hunting, Adam

are these commonly found in Massachusetts? They look very similar to a patch I found in a swampy field today. Didn't think anything of them. oops.

I dunno, that is just my experience. I think maybe a lot of landscaping mulch is treated with fungicides.

Got to my local park got a quick hunt. I know it's not an ovoid but I'm still pumped about this bad boy. [=https://files.shroomery.org/files/15-23/342101336-FB_IMG_1433371737328.jpg] [/url]

Well, was out of town for sun/monday but was able to get in a tuesday eve hunt and also made it to the PA spot yesterday. Three weeks late and the season finally feels like it should. Clusters are coming off the top of logs, and the mulch piles we left pins on last week exploded. Tuesday was pretty damn wet and overcast, so pics turned out like crap. I really need a tripod to make the low light shots pop. Here's some of yesterday's mulch pile though. (included standard bic lighter in second pic)

Some of the ovoids in that second pic were friggn monsters! I'm guessing those big ones weigh about 3-4g when dried. Here's a couple pics from that pile.
First, some mutant montsers

And then one of the clusters near the top of image. (then cam battery died)

I'm going to be heading to VA for a couple days, so won't be able to get back to the spots we normally hit until next week. We'll be fairly close to the James river though, so maybe we'll get lucky and locate a couple VA ovoids.
Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and is able to find the next mother load.

Awesome pics fellow shroomers!!!!! I made it out this morning to finish off the season. Found some killer clusters, all the mushrooms were mature or rotted. I think I was a day late on these, found one heller cluster that was rotted and another monster shroom with a huge cap that had cobweb mold in the gills, couldn't keep them but it was still awesome to see. The veg is way too thick for me to hunt again, I don't want to stomp around in it and fuck it up.
So here's the finale. I hope we are all posting pics this fall!!!!

Ehh
There has been report's back to '02-03 for what would become Ovoids. Given the common Caerulipes vs. Ovoid at that time who knows...
Those black caps are wicked.
This is my rookie year, so what do I know
