I understand myself to be entrepreneurial, although have no aspirations to start a small business. I have over the past 5+ years exclusively worked for small businesses and do thrive in the dynamic/evolving work place. It is natural for me to weed out in efficiencies and streamline logistics when I am at work, so working in a strict/static environment would cramp my style for sure. These same character traits surely would pay dividends if i was running my own business. That said, I am a bit of a control freak, so micromanaging things could also be an issue for me. Any thoughts on this?
I've chosen the academic route late in life. I don't have the desire to open a storefront/service business although it surely would be easier and possibly more cost effective than going back to school at my age. At this point the only business i could see for myself in the future is a consultancy. Who knows?
Hey that's all cool man. Everyone has a different path. I want to start a small business, but maybe I would be better suited as a small business employee. Both are much nobler and freer than corporate gigs. And consultancy is just as good if not better than owning a business...in a way it's actually the same, except your only employee is yourself, and your customers are other businesses.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm more suited to academia, but I don't like the ivory tower of people in academia.

It's way to early for me to pass anything but a premature statement with regards to my preference for academia. However, thus far - I love it.
I've never been happier than i've been while I am doing schooling - I really thrive in the environment, enjoy the interactions with the profs and fellow students and feel really good about the discipline it takes to succeed. Learning cool stuff is a bonus!
I will proceed with education as long as i can and hope to hell that i come out marketable and it'll have a financial payoff aswell as a personal payoff.

I am very happy with my small work-at-home business. Fuck working for a large corporation.
Unfortunately, regulation might kill my industry soon.
