Since the search feature is down how's about we explain to others how this is done thr right way. I'm unclear of the exact ratios of bleach to water. The dunk technique and getting rid of mold technique using the bleach tech.

WTF are you talking about? I'm only familiar with the toxic waste and dunk tek.
Why not throw away the moldy jars and just use regular, unbleached water to dunk the rest???

I was about to start a thread on dunking cakes in h202. Not contamed cakes, but I want that extra security before I crumble my cakes into spawn in open air.
How much 3% h202 to water? How long should I let the cakes soak? Should I break the quart cakes up or do they soak the solution in all the way by themselves?

That will kill your cakes!!!! Just use regular, non-bleached, non-toxic water!!! Shall I show you pictures of my results, or do we need to continue this ludicrous interlocution?

despite what MR havatampa may belive,it is possible to dunk cakes/casings in a 1/200 dilution of sodium hypochlorite bleach. i think this dunk method was developed by someone over at nansnook.

I use shitloads of bleach and H2O2. I soaked and entire project in strong bleach water to kill some stink and it recovered very well. These chemicals, when used in small amounts Bleach 1:100 and H2O2 20:100 don't kill myc or fruit but they kill spores and everything else.

I always dunk in h2o2 with on problems.I use a good splash of h2o2 in the water and dunk for 24 hours.I use about 20% h2o2 so I know it doesn't hurt mycelium but is very effective against cobweb.I haven't tried bleach but have read you can only dunk in it for 1 hour then take out and put in regular water. It's surposed to be effective against green mold.
