can you get away with an auto-terrerium without humidifier?
    #21760467 - 06/04/15 06:44 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

so I am new to this, but I am going to be using PF Tek. I have ordered myself 5 spore syringes ( now received) , and the grow box setup that I found online as a $80DIY auto-terrarium . only difference might be is I do not have an ultrasonic humidifierand I was wondering if it can be done without. I was also wondering what you guys thought of this idea . running two 29 quart plastic Sterilite containers with one 60 gallon aquarium air pump that has two outputs . have one output go to each tub and attach them to a splitter which attaches to two large bubble wands which lay across the bottom each covered in peralite. Like , 4 inches over them so they can bubble through for some extra humidity, correct?. as for heating I won't need any the thermostat in the home stay at 73 to 78. I'm just trying to get all my s*** straight before I even inoculated any jars. and what should my yeild be on one of these auto terrariums compared to if I was to do a shotgun terrarium. also on these Sterilite tubs I've attached a metal spicket to the bottom. it has a metal screen cinched over it with a rubber band and the finger of a rubber glove with a slit in it so that way when pressure builds up the co2 can come out the bottom of the tank. also do you guys have a suggestion on what strain to start with? I've got z strain, b+strain,  African Transkeis, lips yia, quez. Looking for input and constructive criticism.

Honestly those grow boxes are a waste of money IMO just build yourself SGFC really cheap and simple works great! And it's a terrarium without humidifier just need perlite. But if you set on using auto terrarium I believe a cool mist is required

Perlite does a great job of keeping the humidity without the use of pumps to push through more air. You should just build a SGFC. Much easier than all that setup you want imo.

In the future, strain discussion has it's own forum...

... Post your strain question about which one to do first here.

Yeah, skip the automated $80 bullshit that's inferior and make a box with holes for $10.
