Hi guys,

New to the forum. I know this is a non-active just curious what it is?

Habitat:
Soil in garden bed.

Gills:
Lots of straight light brown gills.

Stem:
White solid stem.

Cap:
Flat gold cap.

Bruising:
Didn't change colour when pinched.

Other information:
Smells like an edible mushroom to me.

Do you have any better photos?

Looks like toxic Leratiomyces ceres to me, but absolutely no way of being certain without better photos. Take a spore print too.

Not if the cap is gold, it looks kind of red in those pictures, but I wouldn't take that to heart since there is not near adequate light to take a photo for ID purposes.

Hey OP. please take new pictures, preferably in natural light (but in way brighter light at least). Also close-ups of the different parts of the mushroom are immensely helpful.

Sorry for the bad photos they were taken with a webcam.

I just checked Leratiomyces ceres on the Web it's definitely not that.

The cap broke in my pocket which is why it looks like it's curved outwards a bit, but it was actually flat.

Sorry to say, nobody can tell you what kind of mushroom that is with those pictures. Turning on alot more lights in the room before shooting might make it possible.

Unfortunately I can't take a better photo as the cap has now broken off.
