With all the different types and hybrids out there,I believe it's next to impossible to ID it 100 percent.

Will spines look different when it roots?it has super short very brittle.I have seen and owned some that had stronger longer spines that were said to be true pedro.and yeah thats why I got nowhere with looking on sites there were alot of hybrids but I saw/found none that were quite like this one.

May be a seed grown trich so it would be unlike any other in some areas then what you often buy or see on the net.

It's a T. pachanoi. Probabaly a true pedro. Grow it out and report back when it has some new growth.

That's easy. It's because it's a hybrid of unknown origin.

Not every Trichocereus posted is a hybrid and people are too quick to call them this these days. There was a time not too long ago when most Trichocereus were propagated via cuttings. The cactus pictured really does resemble one of the pachanois, in my opinion. I've no reason to call it a hybrid.
