another thing for me for why im not into pins, its cuz when i started doing the electronic thing, it was weird, it was underground, and pretty much unknown. people had never even heard of dubstep when i was into it. i liked the fact that it was weird. i like being a little different
???
Didnt you say earlier in this thread that you've only been into electronic music/rave scene for 5 years?! I went to my first rave 19 years ago and don't consider that I was involved when it was "underground". Dubstep was in its death throes in 2010. You may be deluding yourself on some things, bassfreak.
He's still that age where he thinks he's special. My first rave was like 18 years ago and people were bitching about how mainstream it was getting back then. I think its a stage everyone goes through in their mid 20s. Not to say I still don't do it, but at least I can recognize how full of shit I am when I do it (like just now).

bc brostep and dubstep are different
in 09-10 brostep is what was emerging as the new "thing"
its not like america had a scene for dubstep before then. it was a UK thing for years before the US
compared to the rest of the music industry, it was def underground

There definitely was a "scene" for it. I was going to all dubstep club nights in Chicago in 06 or 07. You just didnt get involved until it was getting mainstream exposure.

lol "mainstream"
its funny how these are relative terms
when i was talking earlier, i was talking about how it was underground, you know, to the rest of society. it was a little different back then. this is simply just a fact

Skrillex won a Grammy in 2011. I don't think there's any relativity about that being mainstream.

Yeah, you're right. This is a matter of subjective interpretation.
Anyway, what's the best hat pin you ever saw?

The pin I got is a picture of a sparkly clump of emerald sitting on a cloud. It symbolizes how high I was when I bought it.
