Immortal Technique anyone

This is his most classic album, and my favorite as it as some of the most intense lyrical content. He has some great songs on all of his albums though.
I am not the biggest fan of rap but some like 'Tech do a good job pushing alternative messages to people who might otherwise not hear or get into it.
Also I have watched many videos of him discussing politics and many other topics and he is a really knowledgeable person.
Plus he is very active in communities and does charitable work on top of his activism.
He played here a couple years back when I was more into rap and I went and saw him it was a pretty good show.
At one point he said something about how my town smells better/danker every time he comes here. Than he nicknamed our town Eugreen (Eugene)

I'm pretty sure I saw Immortal Techniue once and it was one of the most boring concerts I've ever been to.
I'm not saying his studio stuff isn't decent or w/e, but there was literally zero rhythm at all when I saw - who I think might have been him - live. It was a ton of really well-known hip hop artists that I saw, and they were all trash.
Basically just talking into a mic in a way that suggests they're gangster. That was the entire show.

Yeah I love peruvian cocaine, probably one of my favorite songs off that album.
How pretty sure are you sheekle? Because he definitely is pretty "gangster" rap but he also has a lot of creative/ powerful lyrics about a lot of world issues.
One, leaving the past, and the 4th branch are all great examples of his more powerful lyricism.

It was some hip-hop convention thing where a lot of really well-known and big named hip hop artists played, and i'm pretty sure he was one of them. it was like 3 years ago tho, so idk.
all i know is the whole thing fucking sucked horribly

He has been pretty underground most of his career, he definitely got pretty big becouse he is skilled but for the most part he is not really "popular"
Partly becouse he won't sell out and he talks about how corporations suck and other things big record labels don't want.
I still am pretty unconvinced, you are not making a good case for it being him.

idk man hes pretty sick....i find it hard to believe that one of the best, most famous rap battlers in history put on a bad show (who knows tho maybe he was having an off day) but he won enough money rap battling he released his first 2 records 100% on his own and promoted them on his own.
his lyrics though man, he is a fucking poet
i love his collabs too
dead prez and immortal technique plus jus blaze and green lantern as producers.....so dope
he also honed his rapping skills in prison no joke

He plays at a local music festival pretty regularly, I wouldn't say he's always underground really.
This was inside of a college though, this hip-hop convention.

Like I said he has gotten pretty big due to his skills but "popular" makes me think of all these shitty rappers that get hyped up a ton everywhere now a days.
Trippin said it, he is a poet who got popular partly rap battling and partly through his dope home brewed albums.

It was all "hip-hop", not that it's really all too far from rap.
That stupid faggot who sings "DMT with Joe Rogan" was there, he sucked too.

fuck jay-z
why?
he's always been about the hustle from the beginning before rap. there is a documentary about him titled after his first record which he put out under his own record label he created from drug money called "Reasonable Doubt"
i think jay z is (or at least was) the man....maybe now hes kinda just raking in the dough but still hes got street cred IMO
tupac i never understood how he could be all 100% west coast when he lived in baltimore for a while when he was sorta young and went to the baltimore school for the arts, even appearing in shakespearean shit

He always seemed like a hardcore sellout to me not to mention I can't say I have ever enjoyed any of his music... I am picky though.
This song has such powerful lyrics, I love it
Here is another great collab with tech too, I love the content and lyrics of this one too, it is also pretty damn powerful. Great beat too.:

Pac only repped the West coast in so many songs despite being born in NY and living all around NY til 18 BECAUSE the West is what gave him the game. The west was his escape. His paradise. In NY..he was homeless. He witnessed so much brutality.
And no...Tupac did not write nursery rhymes. He is much more lyrical than Biggie when he wants to be. Biggie raps about the same commercial shit we here today. Biggie had that "mathematical flow" where Tupac rhymed from the pit of his stomach, but could rap from the center of his mind whenever he wanted to.
Lets not forget...2pac had HUNDREDS of songs he wrote himself. Biggie has 2 fucking albums he took years to make. Biggie wasn't even close to Pacs level...Pac could easily/have recorded 3 songs a day. He wrote the makeveli album in pretty much 7 days.
See, many people cannot see beneath 2pacs rhymes. They think they are simplistic when really, they have double meanings. One is level the word/sentence will mean what everyone thinks it means, and on another level it will mean something different on the highest level of reality.
You need to have the sacred knowledge typically given from psychedelics/books/philosophy to understand the alternate meanings in pacs music.
hes the king

pac stans stay delusional. yea hes got heart and emotion, spit from his heart, but he wasnt nothing special lyrically. biggie absolutely dwarfed pac when it came to this. Big just wrote nastier verses that made you go "oh shit, wait remind that".
im suprised you say biggie rapped about the same shit. . 95 mainly 96 deathrow pac was very played out. he could have filled up a 20 page book with how many times he would scream thug life in verses and adlibs, or mentioning enemies, Hennessy, and adversaries

Immortal Technique is fucking great, thought IDK if I'd call him underground anymore.
Atleast, where I was born and raised he was a staple in my highschool/college music scene, so either he was well known in Seattle or it just had a good underground scene.

i'd say he's still underground, even tho he's making more money and growing in fame, he's still within his roots. he's doing it man, he is like the very root of underground hip hop. he's the dude that didnt just have something to say, he also went out there and did it, and is still currently doing it.

-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Tupacs a so so rapper. On the same level as immortal technique or mos def. If he didnt get gunned down he never wouldve been that well known. More then likely he wouldve stayed underground. Eminem, lil wayne, 50 cent all wouldve dwarfed him had he stayed alive. Even now hes more an icon then anything. Pretty rare to see anyone bumping him anymore

dude he wasnt underground at all when he got shot - just hitting his prime when he got gunned down wtf are you talking about....he just dropped "all eyez on me" and sold over 9 million copies and he was just getting into films....he was planned to be the star to a movie that after his death tyrese gibson took his place.....ended up in the fast and furious series - that could have been tupac had he not died.

Bill_Oreilly said: Pac only repped the West coast in so many songs despite being born in NY and living all around NY til 18 BECAUSE the West is what gave him the game.
You need to have the sacred knowledge typically given from psychedelics/books/philosophy to understand the alternate meanings in pacs music.
hes the king
he only lived in NYC til he was 15 and he went to the baltimore school for the arts appearing in shakespearean acts and basically being a total band geek. im not buying the repping west coast cause he didnt like NY.
i bet tech could slay tupac in a battle if he were still alive

Used to like immortal technique. He had a few dope tracks but he really fell off. He also went on this tyrade where he dissed a lot of people I liked. I forgot what that was about or who he even dissed.
Tupac repped the West Coast because he was set up in 1994 at Quad Studios. Jimmy Henchman who recently got indicted (2013) for trafficking cocaine paid Haitian Jack and King Tut to rob Tupac because Tupac didn't sign to bad boy. Jimmy henchman funded P diddy through his drug dealing to start bad boy. Well tupac had a gun with him at the studio so when they tried to rob pac he began to pull out his gun and that's when they shot him 5 times. Stetch who I guess was the closest to Pac that was at the studio was murdered a week later after Pac said he'd get revenge.. lil fun fact. Tupac was furious that he got setup and couldn't trust anyone in New York because Biggie, Diddy, Lil Ceasar, and stretch were all cool with pac and they knew ahead of time something was going to happen to him at Quad Studios but didn't say shit. That's why Pac signed to death row to get MOB Piru protection. He also was dealing with the Black Mafia which is basically Jimmy Henchman. Not Black mafia family..
Orlando Anderon got jumped by tupac in Vegas. They jumped him to steal back a chain that was stolen from death row prior. He was a southside crip. Zip (diddy associate) as it is reported by CI gave Orlando Anderon a gun and they went off to find Tupac for jumping him. They wound up finding him and shot him.
Suge was so pissed off cuz he got grazed and injured. He also was mad because Diddy's bestfreind in 1995 killed Suge's best friend in Atlanta at a nightclub. So Suge plotted to get his revenge. He ordered his wife to pay his goons to put a hit on Biggie or Puff. So in 97 Biggie was shot by Pirus in LA with the help of the corrupt police force (CRASH Unit aka the Ramprant scandal). Suge got his revenge by taking out Puff's biggest assets. It just happened to be Biggie.
It's basically all spelled out in raps afterwards. Tupac in Against All odds speaks of the Quad studio shootings.

Puffy lets be honest you a punk or you will see me with gloves Remember that shit you said to Vibe about me being a thug You can tell the people you roll with whatever you want But you and I know what's going on Payback, I knew you bitch niggas from way back Witness me strapped with Macs, knew I wouldn't play that All you old rappers trying to advance It's all over now, take it like a man Niggas looking like Larry Holmes, flabby and sick Trying to player hate on my shit, you eat a fat dick Let it be known this is how you made me Loving how I got you niggas crazy

Listen while I take you back (NIGGA SAY HIS NAME!) and lace this rap A real live tale about a snitch named Haitian Jack Knew he was working for the FED's, same crime, different trials Nigga, picture what he said, and did I mention Promised a payback, Jimmy Henchman, in due time I know you bitch niggas is listening, The World Is Mine Set me up, wet me up, niggas stuck me up Heard the guns bust but you tricks never shut me up Touch one of mine, on everything I love I'll destroy everything you touch, play the game nigga All out warfare, eye for eye Last words to a bitch nigga, "Why you lie?" Now you gotta watch your back, now watch your front Here we come, gunshots too Tut, now you stuck Fuck the rap game, nigga this M-O-B So believe me we enemies, I go against all odds
Then again in 50 cent many men.
Quote:
The feds didn't know much when Pac got shot I got a kite from the pens that told me Tut got knocked I ain't gonna spell it out for you motherfuckers all the time Are you illiterate, nigga? You can't read between the lines In the Bible it says what goes around comes around "Hommo" shot me, three weeks later he got shot down Now it's clear that I'm here for a real reason Cause he got hit like I got hit, but he ain't fucking breathing
Glad Henchman is forever in prison now. He just got sentenced in 2013 for running Czar entertainment which trafficked cocaine from LA to NY. Made 13 million a year since 2007 with that scheme. He was obviously in the business for way longer. He had countless people killed and is forever known as the guy who started the EAst coast west coast beef and eventually killed PAc and Biggie.

fuckin aye if people knew his comeup story and how he made it i think theyd have more respect for him even if they didnt like his music
especially listening to his old shit from reasonable doubt...the whole album tells a story. my favorite from that era is a collab with biggie "who shot ya"
