ok sorry for talking like an ass...I just really really really hate Jay-z. I think he is everything that is wrong with hiphop.

But yeah...Tupac is my motherfucking idol. He raised me.

fuck jay-z

why?

he's always been about the hustle from the beginning before rap. there is a documentary about him titled after his first record which he put out under his own record label he created from drug money called "Reasonable Doubt"

i think jay z is (or at least was) the man....maybe now hes kinda just raking in the dough but still hes got street cred IMO

tupac i never understood how he could be all 100% west coast when he lived in baltimore for a  while when he was sorta young and went to the baltimore school for the arts, even appearing in shakespearean shit

He always seemed like a hardcore sellout to me  not to mention I can't say I have ever enjoyed any of his music... I am picky though.

This song has such powerful lyrics, I love it

Here is another great collab with tech too, I love the content and lyrics of this one too, it is also pretty damn powerful. Great beat too.:

Pac only repped the West coast in so many songs despite being born in NY and living all around NY til 18 BECAUSE the West is what gave him the game. The west was his escape. His paradise. In NY..he was homeless. He witnessed so much brutality.

And no...Tupac did not write nursery rhymes. He is much more lyrical than Biggie when he wants to be. Biggie raps about the same commercial shit we here today. Biggie had that "mathematical flow" where Tupac rhymed from the pit of his stomach, but could rap from the center of his mind whenever he wanted to.

Lets not forget...2pac had HUNDREDS of songs he wrote himself. Biggie has 2 fucking albums he took years to make. Biggie wasn't even close to Pacs level...Pac could easily/have recorded 3 songs a day. He wrote the makeveli album in pretty much 7 days.

See, many people cannot see beneath 2pacs rhymes. They think they are simplistic when really, they have double meanings. One is level the word/sentence will mean what everyone thinks it means, and on another level it will mean something different on the highest level of reality.

You need to have the sacred knowledge typically given from psychedelics/books/philosophy to understand the alternate meanings in pacs music.

pac stans stay delusional. yea hes got heart and emotion, spit from his heart, but he wasnt nothing special lyrically. biggie absolutely dwarfed pac when it came to this. Big just wrote nastier verses that made you go "oh shit, wait remind that".

im suprised you say biggie rapped about the same shit. . 95 mainly 96 deathrow pac was very played out. he could have filled up a 20 page book with how many times he would scream thug life in verses and adlibs, or mentioning enemies, Hennessy, and adversaries

Immortal Technique is fucking great, thought IDK if I'd call him underground anymore.

Atleast, where I was born and raised he was a staple in my highschool/college music scene, so either he was well known in Seattle or it just had a good underground scene.

i'd say he's still underground, even tho he's making more money and growing in fame, he's still within his roots. he's doing it man, he is like the very root of underground hip hop. he's the dude that didnt just have something to say, he also went out there and did it, and is still currently doing it.

I agree he is by all means the word independent when it comes to the music industry. He's doing it all by himself.
Which gives him the ability to spit whatever he wants about whatever he wants, spreading the message

Tupacs a so so rapper. On the same level as immortal technique or mos def. If he didnt get gunned down he never wouldve been that well known. More then likely he wouldve stayed underground. Eminem, lil wayne, 50 cent all wouldve dwarfed him had he stayed alive. Even now hes more an icon then anything. Pretty rare to see anyone bumping him anymore

dude he wasnt underground at all when he got shot - just hitting his prime when he got gunned down wtf are you talking about....he just dropped "all eyez on me" and sold over 9 million copies and he was just getting into films....he was planned to be the star to a movie that after his death tyrese gibson took his place.....ended up in the fast and furious series - that could have been tupac had he not died.

he only lived in NYC til he was 15 and he went to the baltimore school for the arts appearing in shakespearean acts and basically being a total band geek. im not buying the repping west coast cause he didnt like NY.

i bet tech could slay tupac in a battle if he were still alive
