Quick Mushroom ID For The Experts!

Habitat: Grass, Upstate New York.
Gills: They appear to be brown, with a light orange tint.
Stem: I'd estimate 3 inches in length, quite skinny in diameter. A whitish, tan color.
Cap: 3/4 of an inch diameter, check the photo.
Spore print color: N/A
Bruising: N/A
I assume it is NOT edible; I was just curious since there are quite a lot on my property. Thanks for your help, and no need to caution me not to eat it (I am not planning on it).

Probably Panaeolus foenisecii, which aren't considered to be active. P. cinctulus is active, looks very similar to these ones but has Black spores.

I appreciate the quick reply. After a few Google Image searches, it appears you are right. There are slight differences in appearance, but I suppose there has to be some degree of individual variation.
Certainly not P. cinctulus, for as you mentioned, the spores (did you mean gills?) are not black.

I didn't mean the gills. I meant the spores, which are produced on Basidia located on the gills. Spores are usually different colours than the gills.
Do a spore print. It's fun!>>>>http://www.mushroomexpert.com/spore_print.html

Hmm. I always thought spore prints required more than simple materials....
Do you know what color the spores are for panaeolus foesecii so I can compare?
EDIT: I stumbled upon this old thread that claims panaelous may be psychoactive. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5606645
Any thoughts?

Panaeolus is a genus with several species in it. Only some of them are psychoactive. P. foenisecii is not one of the psychoactive ones. P. cinctulus and P. cyanescens are psychoactive. But you don't have one of those.
