Salvia Divinorum Plant? ID Request
    #21758220 - 06/03/15 05:15 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Title says it all.
I found this growing on the ground of a 30 year old GreenHouse, so in the past someone could have been growing Sal Sal, but I dont know.

I just kind of thought it looked similar to Salvia plants I seen in pics. Trust me, my hopes are not up, but I am curious. Can anyone ID this plant for me?

temp during day is 100+ (100-130)
temp during night (70-80)
humidity varies but is usually dry

The leaves feel very thick, but almost soft-like. Interesting.

Any help is much appreciated. (Sorry if this is the wrong category for this post, I didnt see a plant-specific ID area, rather than mushrooms)

"Ethnobotanical Garden" is probably where this ID belongs.

It's a Datura or Brugmansia.

Wow i just discovered Datura growing in their wildly too.
It has the spiny fruits and flowers like Datura.

Dont worry, i have absolutely no interest in either Brugmansia or Datura.
Extreme risk it seems.

Thanks for the ID. Its probably correct since I see large Datura bushes in there.
What the fuck were these people doing back in the day.

(They grew all sorts of flowers, maybe they grew those two ornamentaly)

I don't know where you're at, but Datura, Brugmansia and others (such as Atropa belladona for example) are said to have been used a lot by "witches" in the European early modern period.

Flying ointments and such, they're actually pretty common in the wild around these parts.

Not all people grow plants just to get high brother:wink:

I sure don't.

Datura and Brugmansia make for some beautiful plants, and should only be grown for that reason,in my opinion.

And you're welcome with the ID:cool:

Dig that one up,and take it home,it could make for some awesome flowers:yesnod:
