Maybe in retrospect I should have made a couple weights to get the job done. Unless pouring the water lightly over the sub ruined it, it seems to have gone well, and is re-hydrated. Thanks for all the guidance
Did you re-hydrate long it enough ? Everyone seemed to say let it hydrate for 2-4 hours. Your thread is barely 2 hours old

it doesnt matter if it floats IME, just pour water on top and down the liner. the sub block will drink and transport the water it needs in 2-4 hrs. just remember to drain well. some even rinse the block afterwards but...

I read that any stumps that are left after harvesting will be eaten by the mycelium, in your experience does this hold true? And if so what about pins/aborts?

I don't go above them as my sub is always a bit lower than the bottom of them. Also I'd probably just spray them with Lysol in any case and let them dry out. I'm pretty sure they have to get a little wet with all the moisture rolling down the sides of the tubs anyway?
Also my subs always float like a motherfucker.

I don't personally do it, but some people here cut their shrooms at the base to harvest. They swear that the mycelium recovers just fine in most cases. Personally, I know from cloning that tissue from inside the stem will recover onto agar, cardboard, even grains from some reports. If tissue from the stem recovers on those mediums, it's logical to think that it will recover on it's own home mycelium colony (aka: your substrate).
Any shroom-cutters out there want to pop in here and verify this?

Well when you put it that way lol. I cut a few at first then started to twist and pull.(the clusters were too dense, and I had just bought a sweet pair or pruning scissors haha) I guess I can let you know in the next couple days, kind of already looks like the mycelium is eating through the stumps. But thanks for the input anyway☺. Sounds logical to me.

Do you clone your mushrooms? If so, is it very difficult? I was thinking about trying it just for the experience. I also read up on 9er stem cloning tek with a blender, seems interesting.

9er's blended stems tek works well for most people. I personally prefer to clone with cardboard. I understand agar is superior, no question. I've not been able to find agar where I live an I detest ordering things over the internet. So, I use cardboard out of simplicity and convenience, not because it's the best.
Ime, cardboard is not a good host for many contams, so my tissue can colonize it when it's moist with relative ease. You can still cut wedges and apply to grains, attempt strain isolation, etc.
In conclusion, there are many great teks on this site for cloning, all having their pros and cons. Look through them, choose one that fits your project, and have at 'er. Cloning and strain isolation is one of the most rewarding aspects of this hobby imo
Happy shrooming

stem butts is just mycelium
for cloning you can just put a young pin right on agar, or rip up a bigger fruit in a sab and take inner stem tissue to agar.
its as easy as it gets!

Those yellow spots are grain from the bird seed I would assume(I don't know if this is normal or not...to stir up grains from harvesting lol). I only have a few pics, if they aren't good I will have to grab some more in the morning.

Thanks again

Looks pretty dry. Imo it's still fine. Just keep it shimmering wet 24/7 by light direct misting. No pooling water, as that's a breeding ground for bacteria.
