I watch random games all the time. Most of the time I choose ones that I know were good, but sometimes just watch random shit.
I forgot the guy's name, but last year he started this crowdsource project to get all NBA games uploaded to an archive and this what they have so far through google docs:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lpv_8ulAzb_4s6dgjPppJlatMnV8wY0BOYWM7jpvbB0/edit
I think I'ma catch up on some early Jordan games tonight.

Damn what a resource
I wonder what percent of all NBA games ever played were filmed. Then I wonder what percent of that film has been preserved.

That's a tough one. The NBA wasn't very widely televised even into the 70's. It's gotta be a very small fraction of games from the 70's and older that were filmed. And even if they were, like you said, who knows if they're even still around?

Kyrie was young and raw as fuck. Dude still is. Both Kyrie and Klove have been injured for most of the playoffs. They had a losing record as recently as mid January Get your facts straight fool.

Just saying this because I don't know if there's even one person in this thread that's old enough to have watched and fully understood what Jordan was about. Maybe SunRa? Or am I the oldest mufucka around here?

I know klove wasn't there...but he was a superstar on the wolves.
ok well maybe not superstars...but pretty damn close. I accept defeat on this one about kyrie and love being superstars.
But I do have 1 question.
is kobe a superstar?

Obviously he was a superstar...but right now you think he is?
I would have to disagree. If were going to label superstars as superstars based on their past, then its all bullshit.
Id rather have Kyrie than Kobe right now. Even if it was just for 1 year only.

Kobe is no longer a superstar let's be real for a second. The dudes been hurt the last two seasons and absolutely abysmal when he is playing.. he shoots like 43% from the field
Anyone willing to say westbrook isn't a superstar after this season needs to get kicked in the nuts. Hes the most dominant force at the pg position I've ever seen.

I'm going on full body of work for the term superstar and elite for being a supreme dominant force at one's position presently.
So right now LeBron is a superstar and elite. Curry is elite.

There's quite a few elite players across the association. How many true superstars are there besides LbJ? I can't think of one.
And Kobe was one. Hasn't been one for a couple years now. Always hated the guy but loved to watch him play.

Amen
Im with Malcolm on this one. KD, Westbrook, Harden and Curry(after this year), and the combo of BG/CP3 are clear and dominant superstars Elite to me is an all-star caliber player who is either past his prime or just never/has yet too, hit that next level for whatever reason. Demarcus Cousins, AD, John Wall, Paul George, D-Wade. list goes on.

Do you guys think Durant will stay at OKC? They used to look like a dynasty in the making but not so much anymore. It's hard to get big stars to stay in small markets if they are not getting rings on their fingers. OKC can offer a max contract, but the shoe deal would be worth a lot more if he moves to the Washington, NY or LA as rumored. OKC could do a sign and trade with one year left on his contract and get something good in return.
Durant usually says all the right things but he has not ruled out a move. He was a huge fan of coach Scott Brooks who was fired.

KD seemed to have turned into a diva. Sad, because he was never like that.
That said, I bet he leaves.
And I consider Westbrook a superstar.

I think you are overplaying the market card. Washington and NY are never good, who knows whats going on in LA, i doubt they are very good next year either. Philly has sucked for a long time too.
And then think about the guys he would have to share the spotlight with. Washington is a downgrade all around, but it is his hometown. NY has melo so it wouldn’t work to begin with. He doesn’t seem like an LA guy at all, maybe if somehow LA could also get Westbrook. The Thunder would never do that though, losing Westbrook and Durrant would be the end of OKC as a franchise. It would be "Lol back to Seattle.” real quick and likely a lot of people would lose their jobs.
What does anybody have to offer OKC for KD? the only player that would be worthwhile for would be LBJ, Curry, or Harden. Anyway you look at it OKC is giving up 30 points a night and a former MVP. Any trade would be a bad one (unless he is super injured and no one knows about it but them)

How long does anybody want to play in a small market? I mean if you are a big star, why would you?. Like I said if you're getting rings, it's cool. Otherwise it's inevitable, you are going to a big city. Lebron would have never gone back to Cleveland in a million years except everyone said he was a dick for leaving. Seriously? He's trying to redeem his partially fucked up reputation. He's the best current player, now, no doubt, but that's all he is. This is not the golden age of the NBA. There hasn't been a classic rivalry for a zillion years. But I don't see them winning, and if he does, that's the greatest thing that ever happened to Cleveland, but that's all it is. There's not going to be a Cleveland dynasty like there was a Boston, LA, or Chicago dynasty; not in a million years. If he does win, he won't stay there. Who the fuck would? Lebron is still fairly young because he started so young. If he ever really reaches the point to be considered GOAT, he will be playing on one of the coasts.
