I've found these poppies in only one general location on a farm and I'm hoping someone here may be of more help than google. The plants reach 2-3 feet in height long scraggly branches very hairy. I'm not able to describe the leaf and branch or flower and pod but pictures may help. Flower size is around an inch across only fully open in extreme maturity and they are all the same coloration. The only deviation I saw was one plant had flowers that stayed shut like little lanterns with white at the end of the petals instead of yellow orange. They had a caramel colored sap after it dried. Very bitter.

Again I am here with another plant. It is about 18". It's leaves start off green and are turning a reddish maroon color with age. The flower is red, smells of sage, and they come from a ball-like cluster. It smells of sage and medicine and closely resembles daga but it's red and the leaves are narrow and pointy. I'm sorry this pic it's crap I'll try to take a better one if needed. I can't remember if they are serrated or not either(pic says it is) but hopefully that is enough info.

Some kind of ornamental Salvia I suspect but would need some more pictures of an in focus flower, stems and leaves to confirm this.

Good job on the ID HarryL.
I agree that the picture and description best fits bee balm (scarlet bee balm), despite the lack of detailed picture of the flower formation (inflorescence). The description and the hazy picture is pretty spot on for bee balm which is a nice herb to grow along with all the other plants. The plant to me smells like earl grey tea or something like that. I could see how it may look like some type of sage based on the picture, but the structure of the inflorescence is not that of a sage with elongated vertical section of flowers from the top of the plant to which salvia/sage is most easily identified, the description of the inflorescence (flower groupings) and the picture by the poster best fits with Bee Balm M didyma as was pointed out by the previous poster. It shares the same family as sage though (to which mints come from) and thus also has a square stem and similar leaf structure to which all mints share and helps to easily identify, in most cases, plants (especially aromatic ones) as some member of the mint family to which bee balm and sages (salvia) belong. I am corrected i just checked wikipedia to check the family to which the mints belong and wikipedia says the smell is of Bergamont (this flavor is blended with earl grey).
Good job HarryL.

Sorry again about the crap pictures and lacking detail such as the square stem. I would not have thought of that as an identifier. Thank you though, for all of it! I was hoping it might be a random salvia but I know nothing about them really other than its similar in appearance.

I do not believe it's a salvia although I am not an identifier
To me the flower it's self reminds me of a Dagga "or a member of the Leonotis Family" somewhat but the Leaf is FAR off so Well the flower is really just as far off so I'm sure it's not within that family but I think it could still be a decent starting point.

It's not a Salvia. It's Bee Balm like HarryL said. It's in the Lamiaceae family, which have square stems. I should of known this but I haven't worked with common garden plants for quite some time. Getting rusty.

Defitatly bee balm I have grown this plant but I never got mine to flower But they have square stems smell exactly like wat u described and I've looked up the flower online and that's what they look like!'awesome plant it tastes better in tea if used fresh instead of dry. But I wouldn't use it until 200% positive on its ID. Good luck!
