Update: mono has been in fruiting for a week now and I'm finally starting to see the kind of pin sets I've been expecting. I loosened up one of the top poly fill holes (barely in the hole at all) so as to increase the FAE available to the growing pins and they have since taken off.

I don't have any poly in my top holes. I might have to mist sometimes here and there on some that had low hydration, but overall everything always looks way healthier.

I've noticed people doing this a lot with there mono's, i think I'm gonna go ahead and try it out. i don't mind misting once in a while.

If you live in the US Mountain West and it's winter (05% humidity), you will dry things out.
Here, it is 50 - 70% humidity and an average 75 degrees F, so you can really open things up. FRESH AIR EXCHANGE for healthy fruits and a clean healthy substrate.
Hydrate your substrate properly and mist as required. I would rather err on the side of too dry, than too wet.
Lots of air solves many problems. Stale, moist air is death.
  fresh air is good.
good luck to you MAN

Monotubs. Outdoors. in the shade, protected, in a light breeze .....
It's the way to go if your conditions permit.

Yeah ya got me jelly. I have only once had outdoors work for me. Was during the one week of decent rain we got all summer. . . Hopefully I can see a repeat this July. Gonna lay down a few quarts of spawn into an outdoor bed just in case. . . The caps got huge. I had never seen outdoor cubes IRL before that

Awesome PE harvest there! I wasn't sure if PE performed well or not outdoor but i can see it does quite well given the right circumstances. Gonna have tp give that a try….

Update: The tub is starting to produce some nice fruits already with a bunch of pins still growing. So far i have not had any of the PE mutations or blobs, just good old fashion PE fruits. Sorry for the poor quality pictures my phone doesn't focus well at all. -_-

You have toremember PE can be painfully slow, just wait it out. They seem like they'll come pretty soon, in the masses
Edit: missed the last few posts, looks like it already has. Looks great man

since PE has a messed-up spore delivery system (don't blast spores everywhere), you don't have a gun to your head to harvest. You can wait wait wait. often a modest tub when left to grow up and fill in ends up looking more respectable.
lookn good MAN.
ps. camera is still weak
edit: wrong word

Im really stoked about this whole grow method so far, excited to try some of the fruits while fresh. I had some PE on a camping trip from my last bulk sub and they were incredible. i really enjoy this strain even though it takes a little longer. IMO its well worth the extra wait that it requires.

Yeah, I am seeing most of the fruits double in size everyday. I went into this grow expecting it to take longer so I'm really just taking it all in and learning what i can/could've done better while i wait for them to be ready.

Yeah I've been contemplating harvesting one of the fruits that looks ready but since they don't really drop spores I'm not sure if its even worth it. on the other hand I'm sure that the pins and smaller fruits could use the water that that fruit it taking up, so I'm kind of at a crossroads at this point.
Sorry about the camera, its been giving me trouble focusing. I'll try and get some focused shots up in the next few days when more fruits come to maturity.

Standard cubes are said to be at their most potent (comparing overall weight to amount of alkaloids) at or just before veil tearage.
I have heard some growers say that PE gets more potent with 'age'.
I usually wait until the bitter end as I am going for the best looking pic and I know there won't be a bunch of spores in the FC.
The PE culture I'm working with is loaded with spores that remain in the gills .... can't be very tasty !

good luck to you
