First grow pics colonization

This is my first grow and here are some pictures of my brf jars with mycelium colonizing. All the jars were inoculated at the same time besides the plastic container which was done 5 days earlier. I used the oven as a way for inoculating but also had spores from two different vendors. It's been around 13 days and some of the jars have no colonization including the plastic container. All were done the same way but some with a different strains. It's my fault for not using a supported vendor. Any tips? Also plan on doing a liquid culture, any advice? They been kept at 78-81 degrees. Will post updates. Thanks.

I'd keep the jars around 76 or so to avoid contamination. Anyway, how did you sterlize your syringes? If flame sterilized, did you give ample time for the needle to cool? How long did you allow your jars to cool after sterilizing the substrate? Not enough information was given to really pinpoint the root of the problem. After 13 days I would expect to see at least some signs of growth visible to the naked eye, but you never know, it could take a little longer.
The fact that some jars do show growth and some do not, I would not attribute this to the vendor. If you have more multispore solution, you should sterilize a needle and re-inoculate the jars that do not show growth.
edit: also what do you mean you used the oven for inoculation? Do you mean incubation?

75 is the hottest I would ever go with my jars. 65-75 is a good range 68-72 is perfect.
lookin good. sometimes shit happens especially when you're new.

I did flame sterilize the needle and cooled with alcohol wipes and I let the jars sit 24 hours. Sorry posted on a iPhone and didn't put more info. So I should lower the temp? And I used the heat from the oven after it was sprayed with Lysol. Thought the heat rising out at 200 degrees would prevent contamination, maybe I was wrong but the one spore solution was from a place with mixed reviews and the other is a sponser . Could I possibly inoculate the ones with no growth with a new solution I should be receiving tomorrow?

Hmm so did you use the oven to inocculate? Ive heard really bad things about oven innocculation but if your jars arnt growing where they are at try putting them in a shoebox in your closet thats what i did originaly i had em in that little cupboard above the fridge when i moved em to my closet they took off

Yea I did use the oven but I suspect it was the spores from the vendor, I built a glove box and inoculated the jars without growth and a jar of liquid culture. Thanks for the response and advice. Oh and I have like 16 jars with mycelium growth, should I do a bulk substrate? Any suggestions on what casing and substrate is good for large fruits or if I don't should I dunk and roll in vermiculite? Does it make a big impact on growth? Sorry and I've read about all this but just want advice, is there a minimal dunk time in hours or just always do 24hrs? Thanks for the posts and I will post progress pictures.

Yes to the bulk sub.
I don't case cubes, don't need it ime.
Substrate ingredients are diverse, but generally hpoo does the best in most people's experiences. I personally just use wbs spawned to coir with some gypsum for added nutes.
Yes to dunk and roll IF you're using the PF Tek.
Lots of things will impact your growth. Look up things like "dialing in your monotub", and you'll find what you need.
Dunking times vary from a few hours to a whole day. Use your own judgment there.
Hope that was helpful

I literally had a jar that didn't show any growth for about 15 days and then it took off like a bat out of hell. Multi-spore can be funny some times.
You could do lots of things. You could leave a couple and fruit them as cakes and use the rest as bulk (trays or a mini mono).
I usually dunk mine over night. So 8-12hrs

Okay well I'm going to fruit a few of the cakes and try bulk on the others, so 15 days and you've had them take off? Well awesome!! Thanks guys this advice is very helpful and I appreciate your input. I'll be posting more pics and updates. I live in a rural area so manure should be readily available. I have a brink of coir, vermiculite and was thinking of using a Damion's5050 bulk trek and go from there. Have any good WBS teks you would recommend. Also my jars which are colonizing are close to 50% maybe more. I'll take more pictures when I get off work. I also injected LQ with z-strain and hope to have a stock of spawn. Question is it a good idea to use liquid culture on bulk or just wbs and brf?

Here's some updated pictures of my almost complete colonizing brf jars, slower ones, newly inoculated ones, plus my liquid culture and the plastic one I thought was hopeless but than I poked 3 new holes and put poly tape over them and it's growing!!! How do they look??

Looking great! I was going to suggest that perhaps you didn't shake up your syringe enough. Thing about multispore is that you get a fair amount of variety, for better or worse.
Also, not enough GE can lead to slow growth.

Use your lc to inoculate berries/wbs/brf/whatever and then spawn fully colonized jars to bulk (hpoo straw coir etc.) Don't go direct!

So I have them in a tub with only a couple small holes but just moved them to my monotub with holes in it. Guess the question I'm asking is if I should leave the lid off and leave them more exposed to air?? That would help growth speed up??
