I am still not sure how I feel about that show...
My grandma just bought me an attack on titan belt at hot topic for some reason and I feel ashamed to even go there to return it

Probably some others I forget
And so is all this stuff (barring Clannad, which I haven't seen). Jormungand and Black Lagoon in particular are mindblowingly awesome. Wound up tearing through both of them in about 2-3 days each. Berserk is really good too but it gets significantly better if you've read the manga, as Berserk starts pretty far into the story.

I confess that I love them. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

Kino's Journey/Kino No Tabi hit a lot of the same notes for me, though in pretty dramatically different ways.

I was just thinking about Kinos Journery earlier, such a great show! I need to re watch it all while seriously lit sometime.
Very deep show plus very beautifully animated even if its bit oldschool.
Such a philosophical show, very creative. I wish they had made more of it

Indeed. I watched it again about a year ago and it was sooooo worth it. I really appreciated all the little details they added in too, like Kino actually PRACTICING her gunplay rather than being able to shoot a quarter across a football field in a category 5 hurricane naturally. I still remember the first time I watched it and saw that scene in the 1st or 2nd episode where Kino comes across the 'traders' starving in the wilderness and it totally went the the opposite direction I expected it to.

Yeah it is definitely in depth especially for not being very long.
I remember that episode! Made me respect the series a lot at how unconventional it is. So many anime are just packed full of cliche...

I used to love watching anime. I don't know why I stopped. Maybe lack of time. Anywho I plan on starting bleach sometime. I got to like episode 98 and stopped because their were no more episodes at the time. But it's finished so once I get a little bit of free time, I'm going to catch up!
BTW, Akira rocks! I remember watching it once with a friend. Then later in our party years, we took DXM and tried to recreate the scene where tetsuo mind battled the wrinkled up children. It was fun.

Yeah I think time is part of why I stopped as a kid.
That's funny, I was super into bleach myself but made it too somewhere in the 200's I think before I stopped. I remember so much filler
You may have inspired me to try and make it through it myself, maybe google the filler to avoid
That sounds like an awesome DXM experience, and a cool friend
BTW how have you been on here for around 9 months without a single rating? I had to check to make sure you hadn't opted out or something.
I may have to pop your rating cherry also nice sig, I dig it.

I think what I like most about Anime is that it goes in the extreme, no holds barred, and that it brings humans back in touch with the amazing fact that WE ARE GODS and theres no limit to the power.
This is best embodied I think by Akira. When I gave away all my VHS to move into the CD/DVD era there was one tape that felt like a loss giving away, this was my 1990s copy of Akira.
Someone remember this intro? Its from how Anime got big in the west, from the old video tapes.

Space Dandy went to limbo once. Another time he refused to become God because God can't enjoy boobies. There was also the episode where everything was on shrooms, and another one where he had to catch a fish that got pretty damn shamanic near the end.
I think you'd like it, Asante.

All the inter dimensional stuff is great. And the overall attitude of the show is just so, dandy...
Beanhead, you silly goose. Cowboy Bebop is another amazing classic. There is an episode they eat mushrooms, probably my favorite.
Such a great soundtrack, space dandy has an awesome track too though.
I started watching Mushishi last night finally, and wow. Such a great show. Beautiful animation, really great mystical plot about spirits. I am in love.
Not to mention the show is giving me profound de ja vu...
