First may be a Psathyrella sp.  Second looks like Pholiota.

I have my doubts about that. I'd like to see a gill shot, a better description of habitat/substrate and a spore print, not least.

Not a lot of information to go on, which is why I wasn't very confident with either of the genus I proposed.

My main reasons for suggesting Psathyrella are the appearance of the stipe, and what appears to be dark spores visible on the gills.

I thought of Coprinopsis, but at that stage I would think the gills would be liquefying.

spore print will have to wait but the habitat was a leafy forest entrance off of a trail. they were growing from dirt sandy but fertile need a better gill shot? the cap of the mushrooms is a bit lighter in person

Well have a look at that stem base. Is that blue or am I completely color blind...?

A look at the gill attachment would be very nice.

I hear you. I'm usually the last one to admit blueing from a picture, but the one you presented in the previous
post seems quite suggestive. You did use the flash in that picture, yes? But I don't see any blue in the recent ones.

Please post a picture of the spore print when that is ready. :toast:

I probably wouldn't have commented again, but you went to the trouble to take prints and post the pictures, and it's been a while with no responses. I think you deserve one.

Those prints are unquestionably black.

Mushroomexpert.com says that Psathyrella prints can be black, brownish, brownish purple, etc. My suggestion of Psathryella can't be ruled out by a black print (and I do think you've got a Psathyrella), but I'd put a lot more confidence in a judgement by Anglerfish, who was not convinced these are Psathyrella.  He's got more experience and knowledge than me and has seen a lot more mushrooms that might fit with yours.

Mushrooms can't always be identified by pictures or spore prints.  I hope you've got something more interesting than what I think you have.
