replacing the term "hippie" with "free-individual" 1

I think we should re-inact the original concept put in place by the first generation of "hippies" that rather than have people call us "hippies" we should make effoert to let it be known that we prefer to be called "free-individuals".
Then at least people would hear the absurdity in their insults towards us
Example:
★get a hair cut you hippie! vs. ★get a hair cut you free-individual!

I don't call myself a hippie, but I get called a hippie quite often...even though what I'm doing is unique from what an archetypal "hippie" would be doing I get lumped in with these people.
The 1960s wasnt even the first generation, it started with free individuals who were labled "beat-niks". (...kerouac called himself a beat, but I don't recall ever hearing Neal cassady, Allen Ginsburg, will bouroughs or any of the others putting such labels on themselves...) regardless all they were was free individuals.
The term "freak" gets used within our own community, and I prefer it to hippie, it embodies the novel, unique, and free traits of the people it is being used to describe....no two freaks are the same....
I hate having a universal term for such a diverse group of individuals, it was never about having a "cookie-cutter" image that one would only need to conform to to belong to the clique, it was about being free individuals.....I think if you want to wear tye-dye and grow long hair that's fine, but real hippies wouldn't be satisfied with taking on anothers image, its about being a free individual, not being a "hippie"
The original idea was to be called "free-americans" because saying something like "get a hair-cut you free American!" Demonstrates perfectly the absurd statement these people are making, they are saying "conform and be like us you free individual!"
Hipsters are something different all together, they are nothing like hippies.

There was an event called "the death of hippie" hosted by the diggers in panhandle park in sen Francisco, hippie was dead and we were now to be known as free americans this was 1967. Anybody refering to this movent and the people in it as "hippies" are making crucial errors in nomenclature, and have been since 1967.

....hunter s. Thompson was born into a dystopian nightmare in which he was always being kicked in the teeth, the bad guy always won, evil always triumphed...
Don't get me wrong when Thompson ran against whitmire for sheriff in aspen it almost looked like he had a chance......whitemires people rolled people in hospital beds into the polling centers to vote against Thompson.... Juan Thompson says hunter shaved his head for that election so he could say "my long-haired oppenent Mr. Whitmire...."....he did not loose by that much....
Ed muskie....another victory in high prankster fashion, hunter had wrote "there's a romuor that muskie had a brazillian doctor flown in to give him a bizzare drug known as "ibogaine", hunter went on to point out several incidences where muskie's odd behavior was induced by ibogaine, like his tearfull break-down during one speach, or how during his speach on the train car he was seeing monsters eat his leg and the audience as gilla-mosnsters...and when you watch those speaches it really did seem like something was wrong with muskie....hunter eventually admitted he made it all up, but when asked "what did you do to ed muskie?" He replied "nothing, he did it to himself"
....God bless the freaks....
