Well i know after fallout 3 a lot of people were screaming at Bethesda to make it more survival and make ammo a lot more scarce and that was part of it. Like I said I have the scrounger perks so thats why its so plentiful for me. I'm pretty sure thats how they intended it to be. If you want ammo you have to perk towards it a bit. Or use a wide array of weapons, not just a single weapon type through the entire game. I roll with 3 weapons. My sniper gauss rifle is my primary, usually ready to go weapon. Currently using the Last Minute since I haven't found any other legendary guass rifles yet. Then I have the Righteous Authority as my mid range weapon, and the explosive combat shotgun as my final for up close to mid range stuff. Between using the different ammo types and scrounger is why I roll so heavy in ammo. It also helps I'm a complete and utter hoarder when it comes to looting locations so I cannot finish an area until I have completely emptied every single desk, box, chest, shelf, filing cabinet, etc. Its so bad it takes me forrreevveerrrrrr to finish what should be fast quick quests.
So far the only quest I've ever been able to complete fast was at the museum of witchcraft, and thats only because there is basically zero containers to loot. Just a nice scripted event to build you up to the end.

Today in modding, I am thankful for someone finally cracking into how to make long-hair options by extending current styles and utilizing the hair physics.

Looking forward to seeing more styles done in this fashion, but in the meanwhile it is nice that at least one of my characters has the option of hair beyond shoulder length.

Psh. I made two trips from that area with junk.
(Includes the surrounding area too though)
I've also noticed that some places will re-generate loot. It seems to be the areas Super Mutants and Raiders hide out at.

Just got done putting my first hour in the Oculus in on Fallout 4 finally.
Can only really say...wow.
Running through the trees and looking at how the light filters through is even more impressive than seeing it on the screen -- the sense of standing within and under the trees is great. Even more than that though, suddenly love the openness of the cityscape even more than before. Walking in through a broken door or a hole in the wall and being able to look around the interior of the building and feel like I am inside of it is a trip as well.
Am really impressed by something the VorpX guy did as well. This is a little strange to explain but he kind of decoupled the camera from the screen for headtracking. If I move the camera around with the mouse as in a standard view, the whole screen rotates, like in standard play. If I move my head around with the Oculus headtracking going, he has somehow managed to make it so only the view changes, not the screen. It really gives a sense of being able to look around the world, while using the mouse for more turning the body. It also makes precise aiming in first person even more easy to fine tune, as slightly changing where I am looking at an enemy can move my crosshairs without the scene shifting.
That...really does not feel like a good explanation, but am not sure trying to do a video or anything would work for anyone not watching in a Rift =/
All that said though, my glaring deficiencies in skill became quite apparent. Normally play VATS-heavy rather than using the FPS mechanics. VATS can be amazingly disorienting in the Rift though, so this was my first time playing FPS-heavy. Suddenly quite thankful for the improvements to the FPS system, even though I never really utilized it much before.
Changes to Power Armour are also even more welcome now than they were before. Previously enjoyed the sort of weightyness, heft and almost vehicular nature of Power Armour in this game. Now though...Now it serves as a method of mitigating motion sickness -- similar to mech or cockpit based VR experiences, where motion sickness is not a problem because the visual cues keep the mind in a sense of being in a moving container.
Thinking of drafting up a character to play from square 1 in the Rift now. Likely going to use Agility and Luck as my dump-stats, since VATS is largely out. No Agility means no Ninja though, so less likely to play a Sniper. Maybe it is time to roll up a real Power Armour/Big Guns character.

Yeah when I mention an area like this I mean specifically only the area inside the loading door zone. Not any other buildings around it or nearby locations. The museum itself had hardly any junk in it. Compared to even basic houses that are half blown apart and have no loading door it had less then even some of those.
I did like the scripted event stuff with it. Was nice to see some stuff that was designed to happen in sequence instead of more of the same with enemies inside that agro at some point and it just turns into a firefight. Creeping through the bottom floor with stuff happening the entire way but NO fighting made it great, and tense. The actual fight though was pretty easy for me though, but then again almost every fight is at this point for me. I'm currently playing on hard and sometimes bump it up one more notch when I remember. My GF plays though too and she puts it down to hard or normal so every time I start playing I have to remember to change the setting or its just waaaaay to easy. Pretty normal with bethesda games though. They are definitely tougher in the beginning then the middle to end.

I understand what you mean with the camera stuff. Pretty cool he was able to do that. I wonder if its something that was mostly ported over from skyrim since they use the same engine a lot of the same modding work rolls right over to fallout with no real issues. Thats part of the reason why we are seeing the number of mods and the level of mods we are now, before the creation kit is even out.
I didn't expect to see anything for occulus yet though, so that's awesome.
You should roll that big guns character! I tried to use my Ashbringer or whatever that named minigun is on my non-big guns character and it sucked ballsack with no points towards it. Even the raiders at sagus ironworks (the forged) were kicking my ass when I tried to use it. Had to switch back to my rifles so I wouldn't die.

Its not out yet. He bought the developer kit version. I think it was 299 or 350. I want to say the retail version is supposed to be around the 350 mark when it comes out but some places have said it will be more and some say it will be less. Since its not actually released yet its anyones guess. They better hurry the fuck up though because I'm going to just forget all about it if it doesnt release soon.

So i started building a settlement last night at starlight drive in theater(on ps4 so massive limitations on what i can do) I'm building a sort of apartment complex on the front of the theater screen that is going to try and look similar to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Screen.
It is the legnth of the entire screen, the left edge is going to be a patio( i would like to have the patio be a garden but idk if there's any way to put dirt plots down) with power armor stations on the left edge. I'll leave the power armor station exposed so each power armor is directly above the next one. Idk hard to describe wish i could upload a screenshot.
Then the ticket station at the opposite side will be my masters quarter.

It might be something he picked up from Skyrim; the Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLCs use a similar technique, maybe also the Thieves Guild at one point, if my memory is correct. Just in this instance, it is controlled by where I turn my head rather than animated for the sake of a first-person cutscene.
Still really good for reinforcing the sense of being in a 3D space, even though the game was not built with direct Rift support.
The VorpX guy has been pretty good about being on the ball with new releases, think he actually had day 1 support ready -- I was just too lazy to upgrade all my software to Oculus' latest release pack for months.
Only downside of VorpX is that the method it uses to hook the video feed is the same as the one ENB uses; so cannot run both programs in conjunction.

I can't get links from my phone from youtube to here to ever work so I'll try and explain it as simply as possible. I will use 10mm ammo as an example.(any ammo will work, preferably ammo you never use as you will run out of this ammo type.
Walk up and start trading with a vendor who sells ammo(I'll nickname him joe in this example). So buy all 10mm ammo from him. Now go to your inventory and sell him one 10mm bullet.(you should not have accepted anything yet in the trade) then sell him all of your 10mm ammo. When you sell him all that last chunk, he should have all of his and your 10mm ammo. If it worked the game says you have 1 bullet left. Now this bullet is glitched. So each time you click it to sell him one bullet it should add 5 caps(or whatever its worth) to the amount of caps YOU recieve.
Basically once you get it set up, each time you click the button to sell him a bullet it will add that value in caps for you. You really won't get many caps directly, but when you factor in that you can clean their inventory out this way it pays out way bigger than any slot in new vegas. If you look it up on youtube it's literally gonna be the first result to come up.
They've patched this glitch, but fortunately when this game released i turned off aito updating.

I have 46k caps right now and I didn't cheat at all. Its pretty easy to make money without even trying as long as you always have some small junk from a quest or whatever to sell to your vendor of choice when you return from a loot run, or whatever. I earned all my passively. Just sort of casually sold a few things here and there when I was at the castle (my home base) putting junk n shit away. I never buy ammo since I have the scavenger perk, and I sell my excess ammo since it builds up REAL fast for some types, especially ones I dont use.

Definitely easy to do it the right way, i have a seperate file that im playing legit on, but i finished all the quests and have 30k caps, but i wamna just say fuck it and accumulate as much junk as possible so i can just start building my srttlement up without running out to get junk each time i add a floor to my palace.

On my next playthrough I'm only going to get the settlements I HAVE to for quests to progress. I have all but 1 or 2 of them and man, the non-stop whiny fuckers always need something. Not enough beds because I drank some charisma boosting dr00gs so now I have to many settlers, oh, attacked again, better fast travel with a quickness because it will surely fail even though that settlement has like 500 defense.... Whats that settler? Oh your friend/kid/family member got kidnapped? Meeeeehhhhh.
So yeah, next playthrough I'm going for minimum amount of settlements and minimum amount of settlers to avoid that bull while I spend time building up one or two places real nice like. I recently picked up The Slog and it has a TON of potential. The layout of the default building )which is in surprisingly great condition) and the pool would work so well to make a multi-building self contained single unit/township. And the pool is perfect for the industrial water purifiers.
I'm running out of side quests to do and places to explore so I'm finally doing some more main quest. Just hiked into the glowing sea to meet with so and so, and had to get ready for work RIGHT before I killed the so and so you come to in the next stage.
Oh I also finally picked up curie. Not sure how I never managed to find vault 81 this entire time but I finally did. I popped her right into a synth body and she is the sexiest of the female companions. Of course I'm all lone wandered spec'd so once I get her companion perk I'm ditching her for dog-runs-into-everything-in-my-way-meat.

I just say fuck 'em. When I feel like building I'll work on a settlement but the thing can get attacked or there can be 30 people sharing 1 bed and 1 food and 1 water for all I really care. Fuck 'em. They need to learn to fend for themselves. This is the wasteland, how did these fuckers survive before me?

What I've been doing just for settlements since I grabbed way to many to deal with reasonably, at least until I'm bored and have NOTHING left to do except settlements, is anytime I get a new one and need to do a quick buildout, is console, tgm (godmode), build whatever needed for settlement, then tgm again to get out of god mode. That way it leaves my resource stores about the same but lets me speed build new settlement so they minimally harrass me later. I usually just make one 2 story building thats like 3x3 or 4x4 and stick a generator or two on top, line the top edges with heavy laser turrets, stick 21 beds in it, few couches and maybe a table or two and call it a day. 21 is my magic number for my charisma with my charisma gear on +10 for max settlers, so usually 21 beds will avoid them suddenly over populating while I'm questing.
But yeah thats the extend of my cheating. Basically just for quick settlement shit. When I work on my primary main base that I'm pimping out I dont use tgm and use my resources I earned.
