I saw that one but I wasn't looking for planters, I wanted a more farm row look. Though I guess I hadn't considered if that was possible that what I want is too, so I'll go ahead and request it.

The Elder Scrolls changed a lot over the years.
People talk about how Morrowind defined the series, since Morrowind was the first accessible, multi-platform title.

Really, there were a number of changes going from Daggerfall to Morrowind, just as there were from Morrowind to Oblivion, and from Oblivion to Skyrim.
There were probably also changes from Arena to Daggerfall, but I'm not quite an OG Elder Scrolls fan, so I did not have exposure to Arena.

Do not think any of the titles will really capture the wonder presented by the first time in the world in Daggerfall.  Back before third-person camera views got slapped into the series, changing the way players could take in the world -- part of me still views third-person play as a bastardization of the series, but I also know how practical the camera view is for non-play scenarios like screen shotting.
The camera issue is actually interesting, because the Elder Scrolls title that is heralded as the most casual and least Elder Scrollsy is ESO, where the First Person camera is abysmal in exchange for a more familiar-to-MMO-players developed Third Person camera.

It's the little things.

Skyrim had a number of issues, but it also had its redeeming qualities.
Personally, I most missed the fleshed-out development of attributes.  Having just Magicka, Stamina and Health instead of the full Agility, Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, Personality, Endurance, Speed, Luck tree was a big step backwards.
Skyrim's changes to skill perks was welcome though -- having some level of definition of how the character could specialize as the game progressed was a good step; it would be nice if the next title can mix the benefits of both.

All that said, loving the execution of Fallout 4.
It is unfortunate that Bethesda decided to introduce things like a ton of non-interactable NPCs (though they do make the world feel more real in a visual sense, just like inconsequential NPCs became an essential mod to my Skyrim play); low-interaction overworld zones (when I go clear out a mirelurk nest that is marked as a point of interest on the map, I occasionally feel like I am simply doing one of Witcher 3's monster nests); and, voiced protagonists that remove some of the character diversity available.
Really though, that is something symptomatic of how the genre itself is changing, as those factors are present in titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition and Witcher 3 as well.

On the other hand, the new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. perk chart is sort of the juxtaposition of attributes and skills that I would like to see in the next Elder Scrolls title, and Fallout 4 provides more diversity in terms of character creation and development.
The game has a wealth of options for character development, at least for anyone other than the most casual run-and-gun style player that only wants to play one way anyway.  Am personally cool with the game being accessible to such players, because it may serve to pull them into a world of role-playing and experiencing multiple characters.
The story, though the railroaded character background discouraged me at first, has a number of interesting branches that let players develop characters in different and meaningful ways by interacting with the world.
Have multiple characters with different value systems inclined towards making different choices, and Fallout 4 facilitates them interacting in the world in different ways.

Fallout in a 3D world may never recapture the days of looking "down" playing it as studied RPG, but the tradeoffs and adaptations Bethesda has made over the years turned out really well for Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 has lowered some of the barrier to entry, but has still preserved systems that allow for meaningful diversity of play.

Was running tests in playing as a more....south of neutral character, and when Preston sent me to my first settlement, I just killed everyone and failed the quest.  It let me take over the settlement and use the workshop to build anyway, and Preston still gave me the flare gun and made me general, I just lost out on the quest exp but leveling quickly is whatever.

Gave me a totally different view of the dialogue when Preston gave me his "We'll take back the Commonwealth one step at a time" line anyway.

Whatever. SPOILER ALERT. Minute man never ends. I thought it would have its ending but I am the general and it is over and over just clearing settlements now for xp.
I chose the synths. God I was addicted to this game till 3 or so days ago. No more quests misc. except building settlements and clearing.
It is an amazing game but with games with tech advances in the next 5 years. This world will become more immersive and have more depth.

Great game though. Sucks it is over and I wait to see if the expanded add on games are any good.

So last night I was made aware that apparently you can duplicate items in Fallout 4 using dog meats fetch ability.
I havn't tried it yet, so I'm not 100% how it works, but a friend of mine said he duplicated the "you're special" book and maxed out his stats at like level 5.
I'm no cheater but infinite Psycho Jet sounds pretty swell to me.

Who gives a shit if you cheat on a game. You most likely paid for the game. To me I need a challenge or it bores me. A lot of flaws in this game and I am not talking about cheats.

Yet the storyline kept me hooked. Loved this game.

Didn't you watch the E3 thing like everyone else? It was covered there, not directly but some of the game footage they showed, showed it.

I'm just now starting to understand power armor  I only noticed today that all power armor has that basic frame when I was rearranging my shop and lining up all my power armors for display. Some are missing a leg here or an arm there and I finally caught on. I won't be flying any time soon.. My science and armorer perks are both at 2, so it'll be at least 5 levels before I can build it (I'm currently 36 and unlocking Gun Nut 4 the second I get a chance to).

For the record the reason why I'm so behind on so many aspects is because I don't read about the game or anything. I watched E3, and read/watched nothing on it all the way to release, and I still haven't. Everything I've discovered so far has either came from this thread (which was little besides questions I've asked) or found out on my own in game.

The irony is that I got a loading screen with "You can mod your power armor with jetpack utility, integrated stealth boy... etc" right after I saw this. Lol wtf.

Yeah same Shroom but I didn't even watch E3 or trailers. Just blind playing through and this thread

I find it's a lot more fun that way. When it's brand new is really the only time I can ever have an actual organic play through. Any subsequent ones I'm going to remember major plot points that will effect my decisions, best lootable places, what weapons gear I'm going to worry about, perks, etc etc. I mean it's still fun when it isn't totally organic, I've played Skyrim, 3 and NV multiple times over and they weren't any different in that regard.. But might as well take the opportunity while I have it.

I can tell you what it's for, I just finished that quest today. If you just wanna wait and figure it out on your own, don't read the spoiler. At some point you'll end up finding the quest on your own anyways. It's a hard one to actually miss. You'll find a dude named Kent Connoly (sp?) in the Memory Den of Goodneighbor, his quest actually takes you to Hubris Comics specifically to get that outfit for him. After you do there are a couple of options on how to proceed, they'll be obvious which one is which but one is a "good" version of ending the quest by just getting the suit, one is a bad version and one gives you more tasks to do. After you complete his quest, you can drop the suit then.

And yes I fucking hated that place. I hate all the places with huge Ghoul populations, I don't like those fucks, they scare the shit out of constantly. Often times, by the time I hear the fight music or hear my companion signal there's an enemy, they're already in my face hitting me and shit. If I know they're around now, I tend to hang way back and get their attention. Then I can just pick them off as they come charging at me and I don't have to get scared. Combat rifle with the medium magazine does wonders on large numbers of them. They only take a couple shots each usually, and the mag holds 40 rounds.

Holy fuck. For real? That's THE ONLY PLACE I DID NOT GO IN GOOD NEIGHBOR LOL. I found me a companion at the third rail and explored around a bit and figured that'll probably be about it.

Funny you say you can't miss it... because I was about done with GN, other than their gunshop seems to carry a fuckton of amazing ammo
