I don't have any problem with it. I have a gaming mouse which has numbers on it. All the responses are coded to numbers. Not a pain in the ass for me

@ mak I think your confusing developers who don't care about PC gamers with developers that don't love games they just want to crank them out and make dough, which I would say PC gamers see the least of, so we really should be the last to complain.

Qft. Almost everybody i know when asked what their favorite game of all time is will say a game from before ps3/360 era. Most people will say a game on n64. My favorite game of all time has to be mgs2. Graphics in no way make a game better. A golden turd is still a turd.

not sure why pointing it out bothers you so much, or is it because now you notice it and now it annoys you too maybe?
I have been gaming my whole life, and I know a bad port when I see one. You bother me because you play this immense game with all this amazing shit in it and then you go on to gripe about one of the most mundane and easy to look past aspects of it.
So what if the menus are a little clunky? It runs great, and it's such a cohesive and gripping world full of beauty and feels and you're just like "OH THE MENUS ARENT PERFECT BOO HOO". Witcher 3 just isn't a good example of how bad it can get. I'd point to the awful bloatfest of GTA IV for an example of horrible ports.
Yeah, consoles being more popular does warp the gaming industry in their favor, but what can you do short of campaigning for people to throw away their consoles and take up PC gaming? Bitching to people who love witcherin sure isn't a good strategy.

Plus CD Projekt Red started out the Witcher as a PC only series you fucking moron...and it remained that way til like 2-3 years after the release of Witcher 2. The controls are almost exactly as they've always been. It takes all of like, 30 minutes to get the hang of them...or you could, you know, just fucking rebind them instead of complaining about it like a child.

Clipped animations, shit textures, and pop-up renderings were at best a mark or a rushed game LAST generation. Now, it's just pure negligence.
Bethesda is a massive AAA studio, there's no reason the graphics shouldn't have improved at least a bit.
They pull me out of the immersion... that's why it matters. The issues are so bad I caught them immediately, and I was just hoping something else would catch my eye.
Maybe it's the lack of gameplay, if the trailer had more going on I probably wouldn't have caught the issues so quick.
Can't just ignore them and gladly eat the shit youre being fed though, it's 2015, that trailer looks like it was made for a game coming out in 2010
Ok I rewatched the trailer with fresh eyes, I was exaggerating a bit, they're not god awful.

Yeah considering the leaps bethesda made in similar time scale between morrowind/oblivion/skyrim - it's not the most impressive, though I won't let something like that ruin immersion Just probably wont have as many moments just sitting there staring at something cause its so beautiful/awesome (which I've been getting in Witcher 3)
Maybe they haven't tacked on all the post-processing yet, though I'm not sure why they wouldn't by the point of releasing a trailer

I dont mind bad menus, but they need to at least HAVE A FUCKING MENU, unlike gta5 which can be a pain in the ass to connect with friends online, that's assuming rockstars servers even fucking work.
Or whatever the pirates assassins creed game was is another example. I never played it(the games suck imo) but i remember hearing it took them forever to get the menu to work. But at least ubisoft made sure the store was working. Honestly as long as the store works these days in a video game that's all that matters.

Very likely. I think the trailer was just shit in general, not that the graphics were the real issue.
Its a teaser more than anything, so that's fair. I just expected something more gripping.
This was just shots of a landscape.

I don't really have immersion trouble with oblivion graphics.
With morrowind graphics it causes troubles for sure.
I suppose I'm not very concerned with immersion since I'm very much looking forward to virtual reality.

I still find New Vegas incredibly immersive and that game looks like shit compared to some of the stuff coming out nowadays. I'm glad I can see the good in things unlike some of you picky sons a bitches. I really can't see the logic behind calling CDPR lazy developers. If they're lazy then who the fuck isn't?

Would you guys recommend I go back and play fallout 1 and 2? I have been debating grabbing them but I worry that they won't be very compatible with new computers as is often the case with old games. Am I really missing out tho? It's kinda like the old XCOM games as far as the combat and movement, right?

easy to look past? interacting with the merchants is like the 2nd most important thing, thats what makes it so hard NOT to look past it. And to go along with that, the inventory/item system is a bit of a cluster fuck.
and u say so what? This is an RPG type game, these are the things that are MOST important. but u seem to think pretty graphics can let it get a pass on everything?
inventory, interacting with npc's, storys, those are the important things among many others but for an RPG thats mainly what matters. Look at morrowind, the combat system was utter shit, why was it such a good game? inventory was nearly perfect, the items were logical and made sense, making shit made sense, ect ect.
Which brings me to building weapons and armor, now thing back to other games that let u do this sort of thing, even morrowing, with magic ect. It was all simple, yet funnily complex, in this game, its just a stupid cluster fuck. All the crafting items just look like one big blob of crap, and obviously one of the things u have to do is pull shit apart to get crafting items, I like where they were going with it, but it was not executed in the best way, it just annoys me.
bottom line for an RPG things should be nice and smooth regarding all that shit. and another way i look at it, every game has to compete with the last great game like it. they have a blueprint of what things should look and feel like, then just make it better, or keep it the same, instead they gave us something that feels like it wasn't even tested on pc. esc button doesn't get u out of an npc chat.....ok. i have to press the number 2....twice......ok. every time the merchant says the exact same thing to me.....ok....that won't get boring soon
as for who's not lazy, you'll have to look back 20 years to find them

So you're saying it's shit because it has a bad menu? Wut. The crafting system makes perfect sense. It's not like it's difficult to understand. As far as interacting with NPCs and the story I challenge you name 1 game made in the last 5 years with a better storyline or better writing. I honestly feel sorry for you if you actually think this way.
