That looked good, I was definitely going to use that perk to breakdown excess guns and shit for rare parts.
anyone know where to get lots of fertilizer to make jet?
Sometimes you will get a Brahmin with your settlement, or one will show up with an attracted settler. Put down a feed trough (its in the misc section under resources I think) and the brahmin will mostly stay by it. They produce fertilizer for you.
Water pumps or key components for most settlements. There should be cinder blocks and what not at your settlement you can scrap. The rule for settlements geenrally is, scrap EVERYTHING you can across the entire thing when you get there. Usually each settlement has enough shit to scrap for you to get it started and then some. Some, like sanctuary have a shit ton of stuff and others might be a lot more barebones, but all should give you enough to get at least the core stuff going like another water pump or 2, some foundations, walls roof, door, beds, beacon to get more settlers to come, etc.
Here is a subreddit I read while I'm bored at work that is dedicated to fallout settlements. TON of information there, I highly suggest anyone getting into the settlement system start reading stuff there because so much is NOT explained or obvious in game.
https://www.reddit.com/r/falloutsettlements
Wow yeah I would have never guessed. Hah!
Thanks for the info man this helped a lot.
Good point about scrounger. I've noticed I haven't found a lot of .44 ammo yet for my revolver so I think I'll throw a few points into it when I can.

.44 ammo seems to be one of the rarer types as I've never used one at all yet (level 38), only found a few of them, all in the last 5 levels or so not counting the story acquired one, and only have like 200 rounds for it. Only having 200 rounds for a gun I've never used with my scrounger perks all the way up to level 38 makes me think its pretty damn rare....

I found a nice interactive map with all the locations as well as stuff like bobbleheads and skill magazines, etc. You can select to show or hide stuff, etc
http://fallout4map.com/
For anyone who is having issues finding a location or wants to know where certain stuff is. If you register (just email address and password pick, nothing else) you can also mark stuff on the map as 'found' or not and it tracks your progress. So you can click on a bobblehead like perception and choose mark as found then save, and it tracks it. Same with any other location or section of the map. Very handy.

Damn yeah I thought so too. I've been all over the place and looted tons of ammo caches. Think I've only found one small cache of it so far. Guess I'll buy some if I see some in the shop because that revolver is by far my strongest gun right now lol
Holy hell... that's one hell of a map. Seems like it'll be handy!
I read stuff respawns after 30 days now like Skyrim? Is that true? I can revisit places later on where I know had good ammo caches?

Might just be your luck (not the attribute) or mine. I'm low 30's and I have over 600 or 700 hundred .44, and I've been using it since mid 20's, quite a bit actually. I only have 1 point into scrounger. I've been finding the stuff since well below level 20. I was finding it before I was even using .45 or my combat rifle. The only ammo I can't seem to get enough of to stay stocked up on, is shotgun shells. I don't find much .50 either but I don't use it a lot. I ended up finally going and selling all the gear and weapons I'd been saving and bought a ton of shotguns shells, .45 and .50. I'm getting low on the shells again. It probably has something to do with my explosive shotgun being my problem solver when I run into enemies with high damage resistance or large hp pools (usually it's more than one enemy as well). When things start going badly, I whip it out and start slaughtering everything.
As for the junk thing, I do the same thing. I basically clean out everything, I take the most important stuff first just in case, but more often then not I come back and pick up everything I left behind, including the shit like buckets and mops. I have tons of aluminum, but my copper stores have been exhausted and I'm not finding a ton of it. My problems used to be screws, but after scrapper, that no longer was an issue. Then was adhesive, but once you get a few settlements up and running, you basically end up with an inexhaustible supply of it.

I hadn't heard that, but I have seen places I previously looted filled again with stuff. I've also seen this to be untrue as well. Vault 111 for instance, I went back for a locked gun recently, and it's still as empty as I left it. I'm not sure if it's only certain places it happens or if there's some other reason it does. I've had it happen nearly instantly though. The Cabot House quest line was the one I was working on before bed and I looted most of the shit in that house (when it was still stealing) and went to finish one quest, came back for the next one and everything was back, but it was no longer theft to take it. I'd say that has something to do with it, at least in this instance.

Just want to put support in for this -- some areas respawn, some don't. It is not 30 days as far as I can tell; might be 7 days, might be that containers respawn every time a quest changes an area (ie: while spamming Minutemen radiant quests, I occasionally get sent back to the same area in a short span of time, and all of the containers and junk have respawned. Have looted the weapons/ammo storage locker in Corvega more times than I can count.
Finally caved in and did my first console command "cheat" to change my gameplay experience. Found a console command to bring back the Classical Radio station after a quest turned it off. Holy crap, I missed this station.

Hey Shroomslip,
New mod went up this morning; not quite what you are looking for, but looks like people are making progress on height issues.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3528/?
Removes the height building limit for Sanctuary Hills -- just dropped a comment on it saying I would like to see availability for Spectacle Island, but you may want to consider signing up for Nexus and leaving one as well so the author knows it is high in demand.

(not my screenies -- linked from the mod author's uploads)

Awesome, that's definitely a start Thanks a lot for letting me know.
I plan to start familiarizing myself with Nexus pretty soon. There are a lot of little mods I'd like to see for the settlement building that I'm sure will be made at some point. I really want some more build items for starters. I dunno if it's just me, but aesthetics are important as function for me. That means everything must be "supported" as it would have to be in real life. I build temporary catwalks and stuff to reach high spots on the outsides of my building, but anything that is permanent, like a balcony, must be supported by something. Some tall posts would be a good start (as of now I've been using the shack bridge for supports). Would like to see more practical railing for bridges and long/tall stairways too.

I unlocked MacReady's perk, deadshot I think it's called something like that. It's ridiculously overpowered, headshots are permanently 95% chance in VATS. It's a lot of fun to use if you camp up on the freeway like I did here:
I also added a sweet bodyslam by Piper at the end. It made me laugh so hard
I'm pretty much finished with this game, I've done everything Now I'm just waiting for some dlc. Or mods, whenever they get released for console.

Nice video, particularly the ending.
You sure have me shown up though; Steam is still listing me as needing 6 more achievements before I'm done 'everything' by Bethesda's standards.

Gives a vague description about what is near by. Tractor/farm looking stuff is a settlement for instance. Hospitals, army bases and vaults also have similar distinctive icons. If you don't feel like setting custom markers and you fast travel to an area to go to some other nearby place, you can find it by following it's icon. If you're out exploring and see an icon like a Gear which is for Vaults, then you know a vault is nearby and you can find it to discover/explore it.

Litterally the first and only time I've ever seen it happen. I kinda wish it happened more often, there's something funny about a woman in a dress body slamming someone

You can body slam people, even. It happens sometimes when I gun bash people, but I honestly can't figure out the exact right moment to do it. It just happens sometimes when I bash.

Parson's has a ton of junk/loot. Even with 310 pound capacity (effectively 290 because of one weapon and some quest armor I can't drop) and a companion, it's taken me 5 trips to get it all back to my truck stop. Just one more perk into the strong back and I won't have to make multiple trips anymore.

Take a look at this sir:
Quote:
In this video you will learn exactly what you need to build the .50 Sniper / Anti-material rifle. And if you are impatient, I also show you how to get it right out the vault using cheat codes for PC. Shopping list below... Shopping list for basic .50 along with cheat codes. Apologies for making this video about 2x as long as it needed to be, I recorded the different sections at different times and ended up repeating a lot of info. Will speed it up next time.
(NOTE: It seems there is a .50 cal rifle in the game, if you want to try and get it, here is a video showing you where it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90KTp...)
NOTE2: to figure out how to max out the .50 rifles damage rating from 64 to 184, I have added a how to at the end of the comments below.
Experience required, 27000 for lvl 25 Cheat for xp player.modav experience 27000
After your experience is gained go upgrade your perks. Inelegance lvl 3 Gun Nut lvl 3
Now gather your items with the following code. player.additem XXXXX #
xxxx being item code and # your desired quantity.
1 Hunting Rifle 4F46A 7 Adhesive 1BF72E 10 Aluminum 6907A 4 Gears 6907E 5 Oil 1BF732 8 Screws 69081 .50 Ammo 1F279 as much as you want
That is sufficient to build the basic .50 if you want the fully customized version with muzzle break and Target tracking Optics you will need the following.
Lvl 25 Intelegence 6 Gun Nut 3 Science 1
Items 1 Hunting Rifle 4F46A 5 Fiber Optics 69087 2 Rubber 106D98 11 Springs 69082 4 circuitry 6907B 6 Crystals 6907D 33 Adhesive 1BF72E 39 Aluminum 6907A 4 Gears 6907E 9 Oil 1BF732 29 Screws 69081 4 Nuclear Material 69086 4 Silver AEC66 .50 Ammo 1F279
I've done all that, i even got a workbench going... i press E on work bench and it tells me to clear out enemies n ear by ........ Dude WTF???
How do i build this stupid 50 cal rifle with all the material i gathered? Using work bench? Then why it wont work?????????

Clear out the enemies? My guess is you're trying to do it at a settlement you don't "own" yet. That or in some area that you were sent to clear out the hoard of enemies and they're still around.
BTW the .50 sniper isn't really all that impressive, not when compared to the regular .308 sniper anyways. I expected to fuck shit up, instead I find it difficult to notice any difference at all. It's still the sniper I carry because it does edge out on the .308 a bit, but it's nothing like you'd expect. When you go so far as to compare it's damage over time to the semi-auto combat rifle, it's pretty absurdly under powered. I only have the reflex site on the combat rifle and I routinely use it effectively against enemies that are more at the traditional snipe/scope distance.
EDIT: If you could build the weapons bench, not sure why you couldn't use it. Maybe a glitch? Try fast traveling around a bit or waiting/sleeping?
