Yeah I didn't even know the hazmat suit let you breathe under water until I had put it on to do that misc quest to clean the junk out of the water in diamond city and noticed that I seemed to be staying under water for a long time without any sort of clue i was running out of air. When I surfaced though my character still made the gasping noises and shit so at first I didn't think it actually was letting me breathe under water or not. Went under two more times for exponentially longer times to test and thats when I figured it out.
Nice they made the LOGICAL change on that. It is supposed to be a completely sealed suit so it makes sense if air cant get in, neither can water, and that your air supply works in either scenario.
For anyone that doesnt know, you can buy the hazmat suit from one of the vendors in diamond city, or you can loot a shit ton of them if you do the diamond city blues quest where you raid the lab. The lab people all have hazmat suits on.

I think my absolute favorite is an explosive combat shotgun I found. Still uses shells, but has an explosive perk as well. It's so over powered that it is addictingly fun to play with. Another I found tonight is a two shot 10mm (disappointed there isn't an animation for the second shot) that I maxed out and put a silencer on. A stealthy over powered weapon, 1-2 trigger pulls, carefully aimed or not, and they're dead. Don't even have time to face me. Last is the broadside. Because I mean how could walking around with a handheld, full sized cannon be anything but awesome? I've never used it, but I also have a two shot fat man. That would probably have to take the cake on over powered. With a critical, I can't imagine there is a single enemy in this game that could avoid being outright killed.
I also use the explosive combat shotgun. It just tears shit up with inssaaannne damage. I have all the crafting perks 1 step away from maxed out so I can max or almost max just about every weapon or armor I come across, and that explosive shotgun, woooo..
Until recently my very first legendary was also my most used. It was a 10mm pistol that had the unlimited tag on it, so I never had to reload. I modded it up and once I switched away from it being my primary weapon it still was always ready to go in case I needed it. However I just replaced it with an explosive 10mm to match the shotty. The enemies I'm coming across now dont die as easily to the original 10mm anymore so I needed that extra oomf. Its completely maxed out with a silencer as well.
My primary weapon though is a plasma sniper rifle. Its not a legendary drop just modded to almost maxed out and puts out some hefty damage. I think its 75 dmg 75 energy, combined with my 10 perception and sniper and rifle perks I mostly am using it, taking things out before they get anywhere within range to even think about coming at me.
I also carry the rightous authority which was also a favorite for a while, but I switched it from being a sniper type rifle to being more of a medium range assault weapon once I got the plasma sniper setup I love the critical bonus and critical meter speed increase with it, and it has a pretty fast rate of fire for its damage. It works great as a from the hip or reflex sighted weapon.

The only thing would really qualify is building settlements. Sometimes you have to do some convoluted shit to get something placed just right. I've also been wondering if you ever get notified when your settlement is under attack, and finally got the answer. It's the only one I haven't really worked on that I have access to so far. All the others first thing I do is put up defenses and they never seem to get attacked. I heard that if defense is higher than food Raiders won't come, but I was hoping that was untrue. i figured they'd just bring more to compensate.
I noticed I barely got attacked at any of my 9 settlements, even the ones I never did shit with that had very high food or water and no defense, until I took the castle for the minutemen quest. Once I did that I seem to have to defend a settlment every other game day it seems. It can get real annoying real quick sometimes to fast travel to start doing a quest and bam, defend ten pines bluff. hah.
The strength of th enemy is determined by the zone/area its in. The farther south the stronger the enemies. At the castle I get raided and gunners mostly, the raiders have brought peeps in their own version of power armor a few times as well, and were legendary. Most everywhere else so far has been ghouls, super mutants or normal raiders. All of which were super easy and low level.

I keep planning to try to use the syringer also but the fact that its designed to be used in addition with some other way to kill people keeps putting me off. Like it doesn't do enough damage on its own even with the syringes that poison or bleed or whatever. I do know it works well with stealthy melee killers as in previous games you would use it to knock someone unconcious then go sandman them.

I have a shotgun that deals explosive damage too, it completely tears enemies apart.
I kinda wish there were more guns to use and customize though. Maybe an assault rifle that doesn't look retarded.
Deliverer is the shit. Its like all i use. I got the concentrated fire and penetrator perks maxed out. If i have a crit the instant i vats them and put all the bullets on one body part, it'll charge another critical before i empty my ap, so i can hit two crits in one vats.
Another favorite is the night vision silenced powered assault rifle. No recoil and works great for stealth and has an 80 round clip. Also i got some high capacity 50 cal that shreds shit left and right. Between those three weapons the wasteland will be mine.

My 10mm is pretty nice as well, but I literally only started putting points into Gun Nut around level 54.

Pretty much anything in this game becomes significantly less intimidating with a crippled leg or two.
Also find it interesting how differently we treated Righteous Authority -- personally tuned it into a pistol.

This is fun to me, because we have totally different interests in the Syringer -- personally do not care for the ones geared at killing so much; more interested in the Calm, Fear and Frenzy effects for creative problem solving.

I personally really like my irradiated chinese officer sword. It's fun to just wade into a horde of enemies slicing people to bits. The power fist is fun too, for much the same reason. Maybe not quite as fun as slicing people to pieces like this but it's still fun nonetheless.

I confess that I love them. Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

For 3, NV and 4, in a strict sense, kinda. They're like two sides of the same coin. One is inspired by ancient times when swords and other melee weapons ruled, the other takes place far in the future. The basic game play mechanics are more or less the same. Each is different enough they don't feel like the exact same game, but a lot of the basic things you'd use to describe either are shared by both.

There's a theory that the ghouls from new vegas that launched on the rocket to the moon landed safely and colonized and created morrowind and that whole universe.

Yeah, my character this time around though doesnt take his sweet time in battle, and I'm not going out of my way trying to avoid combat so most of those effects dont do much to help me. I'm probably at some point going to roll a different style character and maybe go for a combat avoidance, stealth/sneak character and then I'll prob use the shit out of it. It just doesnt apply much for how my current character is built because it would just delay having to still kill the same people. I know in prior games people liked to use the syringer to knock targets out and then sandman them, but I can already one shot kill so much stuff why waste 2 shots and have to switch weapons

Playstyle is kind of where my problem is coming in as well. My characters that have found one so far are a pure melee build and frontal fighter with a lot of explosives. Not a great mesh. My Sneak based character has not found one yet, and I prefer to have my character's exploration feel as natural as possible, because this game does a good job at providing a relatively diverse experience across alts. When my newest character (sneaky melee build) picks one up, may end up making good use of it under different pretenses than I expect. Just really fond of the trolling syringes for similar reasons to the Illusion tree in Elder Scolls.
That is part of what really shines about Bethesda games to me though, it quickly stops being simply about the story and quests as they exist in game, and ends up an exercise in how players can build and experience things. The longer the game is out, the more interesting player discussion stands to become, because everyone will sort of have their own Wasteland history again. That was why I had interest in Righteous Authority as well, a simple difference in what our characters use (rifle-focus compared to pistol-focus) impacts how a standardized quest reward becomes different for each of us.
Then I start blowing things up again.

I figured out that you can use that game mechanic to teleport. Every now and again I'll run, jump and aim down the sights and I'll teleport 15 feet away. It happens the most in Diamond city for some reason.

I highly recommend the penetrator perk. You can shoot fusion cores off of any enemy even if there not facing the right way, the fusion core rolls out like a grenade and the enemy climbs out of power armor if they survive the explosion.

Also how do you pronounce yao guai? For the longest time i just said fuck it and called them you-E gooey, but recently i realized that it's a chinese bear, so maybe a chinese person would pronounce it like YOW-G-EE, more similar to yogi bear, so i now call them yogi bears. But I'm curious how other people pronounce it.
