hrm, I'll look some more tonight as I read the falloutsettlements subreddit a ton now and I swore I saw it mentioned there.  I do know the sky limit is different for each location though.  If you want a realllllly tall tower abernathy farms can go up to the top of the eletricity poles the default building is inside of and I know greygarden with all the robots can go pretty high, a few stories above the top high way level, and the highway itself is like 7 stories from the ground just to the first highway level, and then another 2ish to get to the top highway level.

Yeah but I wanna do it at this particular place as it's best suited to it. It's mostly just wide open land with plenty of access to water and food, plus it's kinda pointless until I get a mod to remove settler limits. I'm sure both will happen at some point. I basically want to create my own little oasis in the middle of the wasteland on the scale of Diamond City or Good Neighbor or something. Lots of people, living in a mostly protected stretch of land. I have some good ideas in my head already on how the "city plan" would be. There are other places that it could theoretically be done, like Sanctuary, but I'd have to build around houses and foundations and shit. I want it to be more or less completely custom built.

Yeah I know what you mean.  More and more mods come every day so I'd keep checking the nexus and the reddit page I posted before for falloutsettlements, as stuff gets discussed and what not the second someone releases a new mod or figures out a way to do something.

Also, settlement limit is 10 people + charisma.  So if you make a CHA based character, put on reginalds suit, a CHA hat and glasses, then take a grape mentats, drink some liquor and something else, you can actually get like upwards of 31 or 35 people??  Someone on the subreddit got in that range pretty easily.

I only have 6 CHA and I managed to get 24 in the castle and sanctuary.

As for the ceiling build limit, I think if someone figures out how to alter it via console, then a mod will pop up immediately afterwards.  Its really just a matter of someone finding out how to directly influence or change that number in the console live, but as far as I know there is not exactly a console command list of everything live in the game so people have to sort of reverse engineer it.  Thats not the exact correct term but the best I can come up with.

Yep, I'm just waiting for it. I see a lot of potential modability with the settlement feature, I can't wait to see what people do with it.

Also, if you have a hazmat suit, you can breathe under water in it.  No aquaboy perk needed. Also protects you from the rads since it has 1000 radiation armor.

I've heard the endings were kinda dissapointing as they are all sort of copies of each other, but I sitll plan on doing at least 2 full playthroughs, and probably 2 more speed runs just to get the other 2 endings.  There is one ending for each of the 4 factions.  Supposedly though after you fnish the main story the big "reward" is not so much the ending but the changes to the world after that you continue ti play and quest in.  Im just going off what was said in articles and itnerviews though as I have avoided the main story so far. I only just finished the quest where you jump into Kelloggs memories and what not.  next quest is the first run into the glowing sea looking for the rogue scientist.  No idea how close I am to he end though, so if anyone can give me a rough idea without spoiling it that would be great.  I dont want to accidentally get to close to the end and cut myself off from stuff as I know at some point you have to REALLY pick a faction and basically tell the others to fuck off.

The Hazmat swimming was a small bonus I was not aware of, but worth it for future characters.
Means Aquagirl is only really good to me for the undetectable factor.

As for endings, have done 3 of them so far, and am working on the 4th playthrough now.
There is indeed some cross-over in the endings, but each faction (so far) has had its own unique narratives and experiences while doing them.

Have finished Minutemen and the Railroad, and one of the factions you have not met yet.  Working on the Brotherhood next.
Storywise, you are basically still at the portions of the main quest before things really start branching out, and you still have one more faction to meet before they do.
Faction choices are actually interesting for a number of reasons, (minor spoilers) not the least of which being that some endings require more ties to be severed than others, and all of them having permanent changes to the commonwealth that impacts how the end-game after the main quest plays out.

(Major spoilers -- do not read the following unless you are okay with the story being spoiled) Minutemen kept the peace with Brotherhood and the Railroad, but the Railroad is not letting me do missions for them, possibly because I never even finished Tradecraft before finishing the game.
Minutemen and Railroad both blew up the Institute, but Railroad also blew up the Prydwyn.
Institute slaughtered the Railroad, blew up the Prydwyn in a far more awesome fashion, and gave me the choice to fight the Minutemen or Charisma my way into keeping the peace between factions.
Brotherhood I know will be destroying the Institute, but I think/hope their final quest will be laid out differently, due to rebuilding Libtery Prime.
Only thing I have not liked about finishing the game is that blowing up the Institute means the Classical station gets taken off the Radio, and that is my favourite of the three stations.

Have not "needed" to, aside from sprinting good distances in combat to get explosives off.

My newest character is going heavily Sneak based though, so my goal is to kill more people with reverse-pickpocketed grenades and stealth-melee kills whenever feasible.

Seeing if I can figure out the mechanics I need to in order to play a minimal violence run -- I just hate the idea of starting with 10 Charisma when 9+Bobblehead is better for character build.

The only thing would really qualify is building settlements. Sometimes you have to do some convoluted shit to get something placed just right. I've also been wondering if you ever get notified when your settlement is under attack, and finally got the answer. It's the only one I haven't really worked on that I have access to so far. All the others first thing I do is put up defenses and they never seem to get attacked. I heard that if defense is higher than food Raiders won't come, but I was hoping that was untrue. i figured they'd just bring more to compensate.

What is everyone's favorite special weapons they've found? Not just the legendary ones, but the abnormal ones as well.

I think my absolute favorite is an explosive combat shotgun I found. Still uses shells, but has an explosive perk as well. It's so over powered that it is addictingly fun to play with. Another I found tonight is a two shot 10mm (disappointed there isn't an animation for the second shot) that I maxed out and put a silencer on. A stealthy over powered weapon, 1-2 trigger pulls, carefully aimed or not, and they're dead. Don't even have time to face me. Last is the broadside. Because I mean how could walking around with a handheld, full sized cannon be anything but awesome? I've never used it, but I also have a two shot fat man. That would probably have to take the cake on over powered. With a critical, I can't imagine there is a single enemy in this game that could avoid being outright killed.

My baby is a legendary Fat Man I recently picked up:

Want to put points into Better Criticals and Big Guns to stack up the damage from it, and then just vaporize things from range.

Aside from that, I like my legendary cane that does more damage each time I hit someone with it.

Keep meaning to make more use of the Syringer.

Two shot .50 cal hunting rifle is my favorite. Hunting rifle is way underpowered in this one.

Been playing on very hard, hoping to find an explosive gauss rifle.

My favorite gun so far has to be The Deliverer. With the grip, glow sights and suppressor it makes me feel like a badass assassin.
Plus with my perks and armor, I can unload like 3 whole clips in VATS.

I have a shotgun that deals explosive damage too, it completely tears enemies apart.

I kinda wish there were more guns to use and customize though. Maybe an assault rifle that doesn't look retarded.

Yeah I don't like it much either.. It appears to be some futuristic/WWI Maxim mash up. Modernized steampunk receiver/stock fitted with a damn near clone of the Maxim MG barrel assembly/housing. I'm sure a mod will change that soon enough

Yeah, I love the shouts with the Chems.  Psycho fits so well.

Psycho isn't no Jet tho.
:awehigh:

Also, I really enjoy how organic the quests feel.  Had a dude track me down for something I did while exploring 10-20 levels ago, and he gave me a new multi-part questline.  Enjoy when things happen that way, because it makes the world feel more alive and my place in it feel more significant.

Hey, here is a post someone made with all the listed ceiling heights for a large chunk of  the settlements.

https://www.reddit.com/r/falloutsettlements/comments/3uiwhe/psa_listed_heights_of_most_settlements/

Measurements were taken from whereever the workbench was placed and done in stories using the stairway.  Each stairway placement being 1 story.
