Companion stuff:
Apparently the middle of battling Synths (the bad ones) and dealing with a bunch of mirelurks and babies while waste deep in radiated water is the time for Deacon to confess his loneliness and desire for me? Worst timing ever. Okay well no flat out "hey do me" but it's pretty apparent what he wants..

Yeah seen that the other day, didn't take some modder long. So no excuses for Bethesda not to have just had their own system when the game was released. Yeah I know Obsidian did NV, but Bethesda could have taken some notes from them but no they just ignore NV like it never existed ignoring all the great things they did to that game. This game is casual as fuck & is hardly an RPG anymore. You cant talk to anyone in this game nearly everyone I walk up to I cannot have a conversion with, only key characters are the ones I can talk to & then once I have finished any quests connected to them most times I cant have a conversation anymore, to signal "You are done with this NPC move along" this game is so casual now any CoD kid can play this & not get confused. I just feel like there wont be much replay value ether with trying different builds because the longer I play my one character he will master everything. I have put nothing into improving my guns at all & I can still fucking destroy enemies with any gun at level 35. In no other Fallout can you do that, you have to skill your character into that build like any normal RPG. But in this game I can pick up anything & it will fire straight & hit hard yeah I can buff it to make it stronger, but I really don't have to. I cant be the only one who has noticed this.

There was another settlement that, when I cleared the area for the Minutement, there was a Mr. Handy called Professor Goodfeels floating around saying things like "Far out!" "Groovy man" So I checked the Terminal in the barn, and it basically said a hippie commune bent on saving the robots stole him and reprogrammed him with a "Just Be" protocol.
Liked him so much, decided I wanted to set up my home there.
Came back with supplies to build, and it turns out that he vanishes when the farm comes under Minutemen control.
He didnt vanish when I took it over? Did you scrap the desk the terminal was on that control hims? I think if you do that it might fuck things up. I didnt do much building there as I got it near the end of my original char before I rerolled, but he most definitely stayed after I took over and started building stuff. You could change his programming mode on the terminal. I dont remeber all the options but he had silly hippy shit lines on all the various modes.
I'm surprised you went through the main story already. I'm purposely avoiding it to explore the tons and tons of other shit everywhere because I know it will eventually become like skyrim with the never ending repeat quests getting ultra stale ultra fast when there isn't anything left. Thankfully I waste SOOOO MUUCCCH TIIMMME in everything I do in game that by the time I'm getting close to running out of actual unique things to do in game, someonje will have done multiple full conversion mods for entirely new fallout games on top of all the dlc and blah blah blah.
On a side note, Im still like 80 posts from the end of the thread, but for those who are not liking the way speech is setup currently there is a mod you can download that changes the generic responses listed to what your chartacter is ACTUALLY going to say. It's amazeballs. Instead of just 'sarcastic' it will display the exact lines he will say when you press that button. This goes for all options in all dialogue not just sarcastic of course.
I installed that, along with another replacement for the configurator that lets you set your FOV and other .ini file settings in a nice clean menu at startup. Also amazeballs. I find the default FOV just a little to closed in, not unbearable or anything, just needs to be pushed a bit more. I think the defauilt setting is 80 and I put mine at 100.
Here is a pcgamer article with their top fallout 4 mods:
http://www.pcgamer.com/best-fallout-4-mods/
The very first one is the FOV one I mentioned. There is also an AMMO CRAFTING STATION mod, and some other awesome ones.
Here is the link to the article about the chat interface mod I mentioned:
http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4s-full-dialogue-interface-mod-makes-conversations-much-better/
The link directly to the mod itself on nexus is in the articles. Since I use a controller I use the 'lite' version of the chat mod, the normal one changes the layout of your responses but does not work for controller, only keyboard/mouse. The lite version keeps the layout and button placement on the screen exactly the same, but just replaces the words with what you actually will reply, so sometimes long replies will run off screen (fixed in mouse/kb version, soon fixed in lite) but you dont need to see the entire thing to know what your reply will end up being.

Personally think that ammo crafting had been intentionally left out by Bethesda, in order to make the Scrounger perk in the Luck tree more valuable.

Can kind of relate on the subject of killing everyone easily. At level 46, on hard difficulty, I can still at times one-shot raiders with guns I am not specced into at all.
Pretty frequently consider turning up to Very Hard difficulty, but then I come across something that is higher up than the regular baddies and the fight gets a bit more drawn out and better. Could be intentional, could be that I just need to turn it up further. I basically just set it to Hard on day 1 then have not bothered to fiddle with the higher difficulty levels yet.
Do want to do a full run on Survival, but want to have a character run it from square one.

Ah, that's a bummer, my game must have bugged. I left for building materials, came back and he was gone. Accessed the terminal, it just gave me a message saying there were no valid units in range.
I even tried bringing Codsworth to the terminal to see if I could reprogram him, but no detection there either.

Wanted to see if and what it might unlock to finish it. The little bit of bother I got from finishing it has not panned out that badly in the long run. I had just really enjoyed that damn Classical radio station. Am back to playing on my first character again, but I will still level my melee character along a different story path anyway.
Not really concerned about running out of things to do any time soon, now that I have seen the scope of the game.
Have come to really enjoy Radio Freedom, now that I have figured out how to get it to stop spamming me with quests.

I love Bethesda's take on harder difficulty, its just making enemies into sponges that just soak DMG up.
Kinda lame how survival mode doesn't add thirst or hunger to the characters needs making it feel more "survival" rather then just making it so you heal a lot slower.

Just be walking/standing around and suddenly there's a huge flash of light and a sound off in the distance that you would really only hear from a very large bomb. It's not quite opening scene nuke-ish but it's definitely much bigger than grenades or even a car exploding.
Yes. I have this happen decently often. Not a ton but maybe once or twice a playthrough, always when I first load into an area or near when I first loaded in. Usually when I fast travel back to sanctuary which is my biggest settlement @ 18 people currently. I'm pretty sure its a mini nuke going off. There are various ways they detonate as well as suicide mutants that charge you with them (or another creature in the distance) and football spike them down. (There is even an achievement for getting killed by one that has a funny football themed name that I cant remember of the top of my head)
But yes, Ive had that happen even when the game was still new world and I had only been out of the vault a few hours.

I seen a couple of other settlements, can't remember what or where, that looked more enticing to build on. I think one was kind of a cliff side/hilly area with lots of different elevations to build on.
I hope we can get a mod to remove housing foundations, I'd like a nice really wide open area of grass/ground to build a reputable looking farm on.
While currently my main base/city is sanctuary I too am not to find of the location with all the annoying houses in my way. Starlite drive in seems a sweet spot because its sort of level across the entire zone for good use of foundations, and you can use the big movie screen to sort of get a straight line off of to help keep things from going crooked on you when placing your starting foundation. And, it has LOTS of open space with minimal blockage. The only thing that seems to get in my way is all the damn skeletons everywhere that you CANNOT MOVE. So annoying. I will probably console command them out when I get to that point but for now I'm having to much fun wandering around and TRYING to quest, but I keep getting stuck for a 'quick shack build' in some new settlement only to find something never lines up quite like I want it to, so 4 hours pass and I still only have a 3x3 basic house.. lol..

So this just happened. Very hard to hint at what it might be without spoiling it, so if you haven't seen "something strange" and have your companion remark "did you just see that?!", don't unspoiler it. (If you don't have a companion chances are that will be enough to tell those who have came across it what it is)
So I'm getting ready to quit for the night, heading back to the gas station to drop junk/loot off before I save and can pick up where I left off tomorrow. A second or two after the area loads, there's a streak across the sky. I thought it was an incoming nuke or something, you could see a curved flight path leading towards the ground. It does hit, and you can hear it, but there's no big explosion or blinding light. So I set off to go find it. This is what I come across..

Also bonus shots of my ugly ass character..

It is possible to get legendary versions of other weapons that are "Irradiated" and deal Radiation damage on top of their normal damages, which is preferable to me and already adds some diversity to it. I love my Irradiated Pipe Revolver.
By contrast, I got a legendary Gamma Gun and the damn thing had +50% bonus damage to Ghouls.
I actually have 2 weapons that dropped from legendaries. One is a BOXING GLOVE that does +75 radiation damage per hit.
The other is a silly pipe pistol that did like +20 radiation damage, but im fairly early in the game still (level 23, ignoring the main story mostly) and most enemies dont have much in the way of radiation armor yet, so it was still useful for a while.
I for one, am happy with the change to radiation. I actually USE my Radaway now because radiation damage on me causes severe detriment if I let it build up. And on mobs it gives a little more variety.
and come on, I mean I have a boxing glove that fucks people up then kills them with skin melting boils. I make hulk yells when I punch people with it because hulk smash.

Not even using just rad away, I use rad-x a lot now, I have never used a single one in 3 or NV, at all.
So far most of the special drops I've got have been shit. I found a 10mm with a nice bonus to it, one useful for pretty much all enemies out there (I'm sure there's bound to be something that is resistant to it's special effect). I don't use it much though. I've got a couple of pieces of good armor with nice specials. I'd really like to find a good Combat Rifle or Sniper Rifle (don't tell me I just wanna find it ). Those are my two main guns presently. Buildings/inner city I have my Combat Rifle out for probably 95% of the time. On particular enemies I'll break out the Combat Shotgun (mostly legendary enemies you want to eliminate as quickly as possible because they pose a significant risk). Roaming out in the open, I mostly use the Sniper Rifle. If the enemy ends up getting too close, I revert to the Combat.

Here's where (obviously spoilered in case you really do just want to stumble on it but will tell you now it's kind of unlikely):
Pretty much directly south of Bean Town Brewery, just ever so slightly east of it. Somewhere between 1/3rd and 1/2 the way to Vault 75. If you go to Bean Town, and walk straight towards Vault 75, it will take you directly to the site.
It's unlikely you'll find it, because there's really not much interesting close by and no landmarks. It's deep in a wooded area where you have no real reason to go. About the only way I can imagine someone just stumbling on it, is for some reason taking the path I mentioned above.. That would be a pretty specific circumstance and I'd wager it won't happen to often.

My current load out:
10mm pistol with 'unlimited clip' special ability. Basically if I have 500 rounds, it can shoot 500 rounds without unloading, Its damn sexy, especially for being my very first special weapon drop off my first legendary. Its now ompletely maxed out mod wise.
.50 cal sniper rifle with near maxed out stuff. I think I have one more tiny thing I can upgrade on it when I get gun nut 3. no special abilities on this, I dropped my special sniper rifle when I found this one with a .50 cal receiver since I cant craft the .50 receiver for this rifle. I can only craft the .50 for pipe rifles which isnt as good.
Combat shotgun with explosive shot. Does +25 explosive damage to enemy on hit. still not maxed out (need gun nut 3) but currently does 145 base damage, and I feel like the explosive shot is not just one +25, bgut +25 for each chunk of pellets that goes out. Because it does INSANE damage. My sniper rifle does like 120 and the shotgun does way more then double its damage if im fairly close.
Rightous Authority. The laser rifle you get from Paladin Danse. Ive been modding this one as I can and keep this as my midrange to near weapon. The special bonus to crit hits and crit regen is amazeballs. Not to mention energy weapons work really well against a LOT of targets. I still have quite a ways to go on levels of mods I can do to this but the damage is like 46 or 48, but rate of fire is super fast (still semi auto, not automatic) so most things I can just look through my dot sight and zap a few headshots off.
I also never sell or break down any special / legendary weapons. I have a special chest at home I put them in. Because for example I have the railway rifle and im SURE I'll be using it, but I have like 8 fucking spikes for it so no point carrying that heavy bitch around. The junk jet is loads of fun also but now junk is far to valuable to just be blowing people away with hahaaha who ever thought they would say or think that in a bethesda game! FINALLY ALL THOSE LOOTED CUPS ARE USEFUL.

I don't think you can break down legendary weapons. I can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure I tried figuring it might give me some very rare scrap.

Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream.
