mndfreeze said: My issue is I went agility/perception and used charisma and luck as the dump off stats, so I was decent in a firefight no problem and could craft stuff and pick/jhack average stuff, but now that I'm playing I think I would rather have the local leader perk since I keep getting so settlement heavy, and less agility as the ninja perk was soemthing I could easily wait for until way later in the game and be fine. But since I picked CHA as my lesser stat it will take me a few levels just to raise it up TO local leader level and I dont want to wait. I've only completed like 6 actual quests I think so I can get back to where I am roughly pretty fast.
That and I burned a lot of resources playing with crafting and settlement shit. Stuff I wish I saved.
Well, resources are easy enough to find out in the world, but if you want to focus on linked settlements then your decision is sound. Personally have no bothered linking my settlements together, have just been sort of progressing from one to the next as they get big enough.
Some of the mechanics later in the story seem to be suggesting that taking that route benefits from being well-established though. Good luck with the reroll then. Interested to read what you did for the new build, and how your experience differs.

I started building a fucking palace, got up to the fifth floor then accidentally took one step to many, fell off.
Quicksaving constantly is a must, as well as alternate manual saves. I'm at like 20 hours playtime and over thirty alt files already.

Even though I scrapped everything at the gas station, it somehow hadn't occurred to me I could actually build there . I'm going to have to build that place out.
I don't have any settlements worth posting. I haven't even went back after doing the bare minimum in Sanctuary.

Anyone else love what they've done with power armor? It feels more like a real suit of armor, or a vehicle now, instead of just equipment. Its totally badass how the hud is different in power armor also.

By the end of this game im gonna be mentally highlithing every fence and street sign looking for steal to build an imaginary settlement.
When i had my big fallout 3 binge it got to the point where if i talked to someone i pictured a dialog box and my options were always good, bad and persuade for real life convo's.
Would you like fries with that? (Yes please) good (Gimme all you got you fuckface)bad (I do enjoy fries, but your guy's small fries are never quite large enough....)persuade

Mods can't come soon enough for this
I like it vanilla no doubt but it's very easy to see places where modders can and will improve upon the core game drastically... looking forward especially to better textures/lighting effects/mood

people can you give me information? i have two graphics cards ka-jigered into this computer of mine, a ATI Radion 3200 & and 5450, with an Quad-Core AMD Phenom II x4 805 processor 2.50Ghz, and 8 GGB's DDR2 RAM memory.
blah blah blah, would that work Fallout 4, or would it shit out? could i get by with running it on even low settings, for optimal performance? as i would be fine with that...prwease, if you may, info prwease.

based on a quick google of your video card probably not. game requires 2gb ram on the video card and the internal card, the 3200 does nothing because its probably disabled so the 5450 can run.

My Saves folder says I am up to 1331 for manual saves so far. Unlike Skyrim, the game hasn't really crashed out on me, but I suppose old habits die hard. Dx
The thing I don't like is that the save folder is totally ugly in terms of organization. Tells me a save number, a string of random characters, then where the game was saved. Going to make keeping track of multiple characters later on a huge pain -- Skyrim at least saved each save by character name first, making it easy to keep track and batch delete saves that I didn't need any longer.

I'm looking forward to the dialogue revamp too. I fucking hate the dialogue system they have now.
-------------------- "I have no way of knowing whether you, who eventually will read this record, like stories or not. If you do not, no doubt you have turned these pages without attention. I confess that I love them. Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

It is difficult to say what is the "coolest" spot in the game. Think my personal biases have me pick one that is not necessarily the best by most people's standards.
I liked following the Freedom Trail to Old North Church. The trail is a long line of red bricks that traces past historical landmarks, and apparently follows the path that the same trail actually follows in real life.
Old North Church is itself nothing fancy, but it has a unique plaque posted on the outside of it talking about how it was built in 1723, and is both the oldest standing church in Boston, as well as the tallest. It then outlines historical significance of the church.
Old churches, in general, are interesting as a part of cityscapes. At the time they were built, they were the tallest structures around in order to show off the church's power. Then, with time, taller buildings sprang up around them -- it gives them a unique perspective of the surrounding city, and I feel like Fallout really executed that well.
I really liked that, because I felt it was a nice execution of the city-scape, and it encouraged me to look into the real-world counterparts more. Feel like I learned a little something about a city I may never get to actually visit. Would like to do something similar in recreating Montréal as a mod.
Old North Church in real life:

And in Fallout:

And how the city looks from the roof:

Taller than all the old residental works in the area, but shorter than the super-structures. They did their research well.

Can totally agree. Would maybe like to do a mod feature video show on youtube, once things are better established.
It all begins with graphics and "immersive underwear" though:
