Yeah it seems like i never finish the story. Just do like all of the side missions and collect tons of shit. by the time i make it to the story mode the game is unplayable because of mods
The last bethesda game i actually beat was fallout 3 when it first came out on 360 because i had no idea about mods back then.
Does it feel crazy to anyone else that fallout 3 came out nearly a decade ago?

Have been waiting for/speculating about the next Elder Scrolls since before Fallout 4 was announced.
Thinking it is going to take place in Elsweyr. It is the only province that doesn't really have a map in Elder Scrolls Online. Every other province has at least one map, and one of the upcoming big updates for ESO that has been previewed was Black Marsh. Elsweyr is still wide-open, seems like the best place to base the next single player game while still sort of covering new ground.

Finally I can start playing. Install took forever, and then there was a problem with directx that took me a half hour to sort out.

Lol how did you manage to make a character that looked that good? My wife sat here watching me create my character.. LOL. "I definitely know you're not gay, you know how? If you were, you would have a much better grasp on make up".
I couldn't get my bitches face right, either. She also said "I'm glad we're not rich and you could pay for a bunch of plastic surgery for me..."

Well, I've made so many characters in Dragon Age that I kind of managed to figure out which features I most like to tweak. Aside from that, I didn't stray too far from the default. Darker skin, eye shape changed, lip shape changed, jaw and chin made thinner and smaller. Maybe a couple others that I am forgetting... I applied everything I learned about makeup from dressing goth in high school: black eyeliner and eye shadow and don't mess with much else.
What graphics settings are you at though? Am currently running on Ultra, and texture and shadow qualities can make a surprising difference to character appearance.

Max. I had my doubts my computer would be able to run it, but it does just fine. I don't have a shit PC, but it was built around 2 years ago. I was kind of expecting to have to run at medium.
As for your technique that is exactly what I did more or less. She's horrible looking though I'm going to have to find an abandoned supermarket and find a couple of paper bags. I more or less just gave up at some point. I spend 99% of my time in first person anyways. I don't really have to see her much.

i forgot how horribly ported/fucked skyrim is on PC, the UI is fucking atrocious, think i got infected by the vampire curse but the 'status effects' are so badly misplaced i can't find out if i am or not lol, it should show me in my inventory but i can't find it i had to google and its in the journal under magic statistics???? , and they don't show u a picture of your body in the inventory, just an arrow next to the stuff your wearing so its harder to tell if you are missing a piece of armor.
anyone who's played fallout 4, how badly is it ported? aka did they design the UI for consoles or did they spend more than 5 minutes thinking about PC users?

Skyrim and Fallout 4 aren't ported to PC, they are built for PC and ported to consoles. you have no idea what your talking about
And even when you do run into the inevitable glitches that come with games like this, PC gives you a huge advantage because you can access the console
And other than mediocre AI, ive not run into any glitches. and i'm even playing a pirated version

I didn't bother reading through this thread to be honest. But came in here out of curiosity. How is the new Fallout? There is a guy I work with who told me he was calling out sick today and tomorrow to play it. So is he having a good time?

And what system are you playing it on? I don't currently have a gaming system but was thinking about getting one after hearing about this game LOL. And Halo doesn't really interest me anymore so this sounds more interesting.

if the games UI/inventory, ect are designed around a controller/console thats a port in my book
so pretty much everything is a port these days, its just a question of how badly they did it
almost every game thats made these days the first thing the dev's think about is how to make and catter to consoles
http://planetelderscrolls.ign.com/articles/news/7986/Skyrim-to-be-developed-for-consoles-ported-to-pc
i don't care if it got released with 'limited directx 11" or not, i don't care when it got released, non of the technically a 'port' shit matters to me. what matters is i can look at this game and instantly know they had consoles in mind, the controls are clunky as hell, UI is not designed with pc users in mind, its all a cluster fuck

anyways now that you are done calling me out on legit complaints, if anyone who played fallout 4 would mind posting screenshots of the inventory system that would be cool as im sure lots besides myself would like to see that
Edit: one more link http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-pc-review-just-a-console-port/3/
all the DLC was released on consoles first as well, underlining this

Interesting. I only hear good things about PC. I'm really leaning towards going this route instead. So what advice would you give to me?
I am a pretty decent gamer on the console, and I like to get pretty competitive. I don't really have any computer knowledge in regards to building a computer. I would say I have very basic knowledge, more than a 5th grader though So where would I start with getting something geared towards gameing? I would just continue to use this comp for everything else.
