You do understand each mod is made by a different, completely independent, unpaid person who doesn't have to cater to your utterly entitled and completely obnoxious whims right? That they all make them for fun and you don't pay a cent for them?
You demanding they be anything other than what they are is just plain retarded, sorry.

apparently you don't know how the world works, you see we have this thing called the internet now, all it takes is a little structure and it could easily be done. Taking days to install mods is just unreasonable when it doesn't have to be that way at all. There's ways to program at the same time on the same piece of work, there's also ways to merge mods together, its just nobody is bothering to do it. Of course im entitled and i should be, anything that is far more trouble than it should be deserves to be called out for it, plain and simple.
You like things to stay the same, you like boring, you like being poor, you like being sad, im afraid im just not like you and you have to accept that im better than you, or live your life in denial and cry about it everyday

Makaveli you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Mods are just that, mods. THIRD PARTY content. If the mods were made by Bethesda you might have some ground to stand on, but they're not. They're made by hobbyists. People that liked the game and thought they could make it better. Expecting hundreds of people from all over the world to make all of their work compatible with each other without breaking anything is just absurd, especially when even comparatively simple mods take multiple hours of effort, to say the least of the massive overhaul mods.

Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

do you even use mods? most of them are compatible, most of them the mod makers already went to the trouble of making patches or someone else did. my point is that its all scattered all over the place, and you have to piece it together piece by piece, throw it together, and hope you did it all right.
When you finally do get it all right, guess what, you have everything needed to make it all work together, all thats needed is to put the shit all into one folder, and make it one download, very simple.
Think of the millions of people who do this same shit over and over, think of the hundreds of hours of wasted time, if you think thats logical you're a moron. if you think me suggesting to save all those people time is stupid, you have brain damage.

Days?
Installing mods takes a couple of hours at most. Here is my load order that has worked for me for months :

I didn't even fuck with the load order very much at all, nor did I have to change anything in the editor. It just works.
To be honest you're lucky to have the mods that you do have, and complaining that they suck is just a slap in the face to the thousands of hours of unpaid work and creative spirit people have put into these mods. Why don't you go on the modders forum then and propose this amazingly easy project you think they should be doing and see what they say to you?
You should learn to enjoy what you have instead of being a majorly whiny wad about every little tiny thing.

By all means, go for it. It's wasted effort though. Even if you could get him to understand why he's a dumbass, he's the type to keep arguing just to not admit he was wrong.

Have never played a FO game, but with all this hype I'd like to try Fall out 3. Steam however puts a warning saying " Notice: Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7 and later"
So does that mean it wont work, or it will be glitchy? Maybe I should just try to pirate this bad boy instead of wasting $10.
And does anyone have an opinion between FO3 and FO Vegas for someone who just wants to dip their toe in the series?

Either or. Both are excellent. You can probably scoop the GOTY versions of both within the next month or so for less than $5. They go on sale all the time.

Whenever I've tried pirating FO3 I have big problems trying to get it to work with mods.
I wouldnt expect it to be awful on Windows 7, I've been playing Oblivion on windows 7 and that is surely less optimized.
FO3 is the vibier game, but FO:NV is pretty great too with a little bit better mechanics and weapons but a slightly less gripping tale and environment.

it takes you at least a couple hours just to find and download those mods idiot, then it takes another couple hours installing them 'right'.
and thats actually a pretty small list of mods

i also find it hilarious that you think the modders all do it out of the kindness of their hearts. most of the good mods, people spent a really long time working on, then made their mod page look all fancy as well....those guys most of them didn't do it out of kindness, they did it to land jobs, to use their mods as references.

Shouldn't matter. I've played both on Windows 7 just fine. No glitchyness or anything (or windows related glitchyness anyways).
Personally I like 3 better than NV. IMO Neither have an "OMG amazing" story. Not bad ones, they just weren't epic. What makes both games so great is how expansive the world is, which leads to plenty of shit to go do and explore on your own or as part of the story. You get sucked in because you'll be walking to your quest tracking and discover a new area and end up exploring it. Where you pick up entirely new quests or story lines. IME this happens repeatedly until you just say "no more side trips, we're going straight there". There is always something to do and you always feel compelled to keep exploring.
