Damn man. Can you walk? Your toes are used for a lot of your balance.
How do you plan on skating? Serious question.

take it easy zombie until the flesh gets tough, you don't want to have to do another whole rest period because you were over zealous.
i know that will be difficult.

I feel bad about all the toe jokes i made, sorry man
You really don't need to be sorry! Nobody (especially you) was malicious with the toe jokes and in all honesty the humour is a large part of what helped me deal with this. I made plenty of toe jokes myself!

I would never have wished this upon myself but I've come to sort of enjoy the experience in a weird way it's been a hell of a ride with a lot of low moments of course but it's afforded me a lot of time to really learn a lot about myself. And you're right in some ways, my foot does look "cool" it's not a haggard decaying mess anymore lol. I obviously would prefer this never have happened, but it's not something that I'm going to let slow down my lifestyle or my happiness.

Balance is excellent, maybe that's from all my skating lol. I can balance on that foot still, while putting pants on an shit. My balance has not been affected in any sort of drastic way.

Yes it's going to be difficult to not jump onto my board and not the concrete like the second the stitches are out, but you're right I absolutely need to take it slow and let the skin toughen up. Which is something I plan on doing. I will not let this get any worse. It's all uphill from here

I forgot I mentioned I would post my prosthetic too! So this dandy device straps to my leg, it extends out to where my toes used to be and gives me the length to push off of while relocating all the weight to my shin instead of my toes like normal. It's slim enough that I can wear it under any pair of pants with pretty much any shoe and you can not see it. Also with this on I can walk, run, jump and everything else just like normal and you wouldn't even know I was missing toes if I didn't tell you!! The only restriction is that there's no ankle movement with that on so I can't stand up on my tippy toes or point my foot in any direction, but that's a very minor limitation.

In case you don't know, that's skull kid from majoras mask on the back, and that's Link's master sword! Was pretty stoked to get to design this myself and not get a shitty unattractive skin coloured piece.
If you can't read it, the quote on the inside reads "you've met with a terrible fate haven't you?". I thought that was more than fitting lol.
Majoras mask has been my all time favourite video game since I was a child, I even have majoras mask tattooed on the back of my neck!

Serious question that may be stupid.
Do you think you will be better off to wear one shoe that's smaller than the other in order to get a better and more secure fit?
Shoes that are too big always have given me problems in the past.
I am glad to see you updated with the progress of your foot.

Well I will be wearing that prosthetic %98 of the time and it prevents my foot from sliding around in the shoe perfectly.
For the times that I am not wearing that prosthetic I have gel inserts that fill the end of my footwear and prevent my foot from slipping. So I will continue just buying one pair of shoes.
For my right foot I have orthotic insoles because my arch was destroyed. When my feet were without bloodflow they started to curl up and my arch is much sharper now than it should be so I have tall orthotics that fill in the arch and make walking comfortable like normal. Over time I'm told my arch will stretch back to normal and I won't need such drastic orthotics anymore.

Haven't been out skating yet, before this most recent surgery I rode up and down my driveway just enough to smile and confirm I can balance on it, but I haven done any real skating. I will definitely keep you guys updated with how that progresses because it's my favourite thing in the world to do and I'm over the moon happy about the fact that I'm going to be able to get back on a board!
As soon as I feel safe doing so, I will snap a video of a boardslide or a feeble stall or something cool and post that sucka for all to see

Unconditionally. My dad has been my hero and my rock throughout this entirely ordeal. It really brought us a lot closer together. The rest of my family as well.
