This thread has taken a bit of a morbid turn. OP overindulged in some RC such that he developed a life-threatening vasoconstriction that could easily (but for his youth) cost him his life, and somehow, through the grace of god and competent medical care only resulted in a compartment syndrome and necrosis of his toes...and you guys (OP included) are making light of that situation?
Wow.
I gotta tell you, as a cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeon who has been called to the ER for everything from "jumpers" to cops and perps shot in the chest, you guys are NOT making friends with me or anyone else in the medical community who come together to save YOUR lives and limbs. I get that it is over now and things turned out remarkably well (in the grand scheme of things) for which I am truly glad...but do you have any sense at all of how repulsive we find it that you can be so glib about it?
You'll never understand (I guess) what WE go through in an effort to insure the happy outcome you now enjoy...not to mention the medical resources that were spent to bring you that result. I would not be surprised if the total (including protracted home care nursing) tops $1,000,000. And you joke about it. No shame, I guess.
N.B.

Are you serious? You must have an atrocious bedside manner. Laughing about the darkest things life can throw at you is very cathartic.

Are you for real? What the fuck would you have me do? Sulk around like a sad sack of shit and write letters the medical staff all day. Way to brag about how awesome you and how shitty we are. Just lost respect for you.

I mean it's not hard to make light of the fact that we still have Zombi here, despite a little change footwise still the same in spirit How's a couple of toes and numbers on some overinflated medical bill supposed to stack up against that. The doctors maybe saved him and deserve credit and respect, but I'm sure they saved him because they cared for him as a human being, not because they wanted a million dollars.
We've all had setbacks in life, and everyone makes mistakes. He took the time to share all this with us the good and the bad and I think most people here really appreciate you for that Zombi.

So my surgery is tomorrow morning guys I'm having all the dead toes removed... I'm pretty nervous not sure why. I guess it's hard to wrap around my head still a little bit. My surgeon is cool and very friendly and I trust him so that doesn't worry me. I think I'm scared of being totally knocked out.
I also am not looking forward to staying in the hospital again. I have to stay minimum one night but maybe two... Don't wanna.
On the upside come this Sunday I'll have all my surgeries done and I'll be in the home stretch
One step at a time I guess. My feet will look so much better after the surgeon cleans them up too.
It's been mentally taxing to watch my toes decompose while still attached to me.. It's about dam time this is happening even if I am scared.
Anyway good vibes are appreciated !
