Habitat: I'm at high altitude 5000 feet above sea level, low humidity, been raining a lot. Found in moist dirt by a bush, not a clue what type of bush.
Gills: Blackish brown, producing a pitch black liquid kind of like ink when I touch it, not attached
Stem: 3 inch tall 1\2 inch thick, pure white, bulges at the bottom, has a slight ring around it near entrance into ground,
Cap: 3 inches in diameter, were split, whitish brown slightly flaky, convex starting to form upward. Like an umbrella
Spore print color: Look to be black
Bruising: Waiting to see,
Other information: Not scenting anything, just dug them up and put them in a jar. Think just birds and small critters like squirrels in the area, right next to mountain but in business area.

Maybe Coprinopsis romagnesiana or one of the similar species.

Alright, thanks so much, highly appreciated specially since I drink a fare amount of alcohol and would of probably tried them out hoping for something a little more 'magical' and just dropped dead.
They've pretty much turned into slime in the jar, slimy black goo - the stems seem fine still though.

Yea, as a method of spore dispersal inky caps will have the gills deliquesce (Turn inky) rather quickly and faster with greater amounts of humidity.

Did some more research - Definitely Coprinopsis romagnesiana, fit pretty much every description, the heat/lack of humidity seems to have caused it to convex upward like an umbrella and crack - stems were hollow on the inside, slight ring around the bulbas bottom with the bronish flakes on the white top.
Thank you peeps
