    #2174833 - 12/13/03 01:53 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

can anyone tell me why my cakes are bruising? This is my first grow and their first flush.I use perlite for humidification. All of my cakes are turning blue. I want to learn how to prevent it for next time. Thanks for any help!!

why would you wanna prevent it? its normal and dosen't hurt them at all.....a dunk after each flush may get rid of some of it however and dunking between flushes is prolly a good idea neways

most likely from handling....again not a problem and not something you should concentrate on preventing

Cakes blue easily, when handled, when too wet... too dry.

The great thing is blue is a great color.

I mean some of my cakes are really really blue, hardly any white. I haven't touched them except when they were birthed. Could it be from humidity.

If their too dry, what can I do? Perlite isn't enough?

first of all take a q tip and rub on the cake and see if the colour comes off......if it does its a contam and not bruising...if it is indeed just bruising and you think its too dry dunk the cakes(submerge in water) for 24-48hours
