as suggested above i would wait till the veil breaks before harvesting any mushrooms this will allow the best potency.

have you been keeping up with the misting schedule as recommended by space?

on them pics i would say it looks a little dry in there imo

remember after a few hours when most of the beads of moisture have evaporated mist again.!!
dont listen to others timings for misting everyones conditions are different and require differing amounts, use your eyes and listen to what the sub is telling you!
if you need to mist 5 times a day as it evaporates fast do it!! it needs it. dont worry some people only need 2-3 they might live in a more humid enviroment.
mist it well and dont be afraid, cover the whole surface with beads of moisture everytime you do it!
as long as the water is evaporating it will do no harm its only sitting water that will become stagnant and lead to contams.
as long as there is a cycle of evaporation you have no worrys about misting it will only do good.
and dont spray the walls like so many do... spray the myc just if your mister is powerful do from a foot or two distance and let it rain down on the myc instead of directly at it as to avoid bruising.

for brevity... whenever there is no beads of moisture on the surface of your sub you are losing moisture from inside of it.
you dont want to lose the moisture from in the sub as this is need for fruits as they are  around 90% water.
replacing surface moisture not only conserves the water levels in the sub but also keeps an evaporation cycle that help your mycelium achieve pinset as its the most important trigger at this time imo.

you want constant evaporation from the surface but not at a cost to the substrate water levels and this is acheived by misting as needed

I have been taking the tub out every day for approx 15-20mins in direct morning sunlight and then misting a little bit afterwards but only once a day.

I have been very discouraged from misting ever since the whole metabolite incident. I wasn't sure since I was told to let the surface dry in order not to encourage any contaminants from growing. I wanted the myc to take over and recover.

What signs should I be looking for in order to know that my tub needs a mist?

I mist using a small spray bottle and about a foot away from the surface. Problem is, when I mist, since I crushed the fluff-myc, the water collect in pools and there is barely any glistening anymore

Evaporation is good. It barely stays "wet" for an hour since the fan is on high

Take a close up picture with your phone and the flash on... you'll see the tiny bb's of water all over it...if you don't then mist....that's what I do when I'm having trouble figuring out when to mist...lol kinda lame but eh I do what I do

imo except for i would ditch the fan i cant really say any more than i did in the last post tbh

if its pooling your misting too much.. just a few good squirts to cover the whole surface in a fine mist is needed.

refer to my last post as to when ect.

EDIT  tbh i dont think the metabs was cause from misting and space only recommended drying it up a bit if the pooling was extreme and as a benefit the bac would have a harder time with the drying and the sun maybe a lil too.
once that was sorted (dryed up a bit) you needed to resume a normal misting schedule as explained above
but sort your poly fill too raise your fae above normal as this too will hinder the bacs progress.
and when you say you take it out...
out of where? it needs 12 hours light a day really your not hiding it away in the dark all the time are you?

i would also look for a ajustable pump up sprayer they are great(cheap too) for a nice fine mist and easy even application.
just spray above the tub and let it rain down covering the surface in fine mist:thumbup:

like this one-

I take it out of the vivarium where it gets 12hours of light from a 6500K CFL on a timer. That's what I mean by "taking it out"

I thought space suggested it cause of the metabs since sunlight does wonders to monotubs. I believe it was also space that suggested to put the fan on high in order to max my FAE

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll see what I can do and keep you guys posted

uv rays from the sun have some antibac properties but imo that would not cure anything in your sub only on the surface if anything tbh

i think he meant that by maxing fae( by the fan or adjusting polyfil) and not misting for a while the pools of metabs would dry and become controlable and the sunlight would help this process. the increased fae combined with the sunlight as a by product will hinder the bacteria also

but defo resume misting and ditch the fan soon as you have contol over the pooling metabs

really was a long winded way to do it.
i would have just used tissue to soak up the pooling to get rid of the excess and carried on misting from the start but thats just me

Yes actually these are my first ever fruits.

I never grew mushrooms before and this was my first attempt.

I left some of the stem still attached to the sub as I had sliced it with a scalpel. I had read you shouldn't pull the off the substrate. Is it okay to leave part of the stem still attached to the sub?

It has stained so blue!!

I think my tub is already stricken with trich though :/ Not sure if it's bruising or trich. There are still loads of mushrooms that are still growing.

This was rather....anti-climatic lol

If it looks like it isn't part of the mycelium, and has a Sandy powdery look, it's trich. Take a pic if you want .

Stumps are fine. Bruising is a good sign :P

It has no powdery look to it, no blobs or anything like that. It just looks like it's part of the mycelium. This turquoise pimple pushing upwards lol

I'll post some pictures tomorrow

*UPDATE*

Just made another harvest :super: It's not a second flush just some shrooms that were a day behind in fruiting. It yielded a good 120g

I fell in love with their coloration :3 It's just like on the internet! :laugh2:

I also stayed around messing with some photography on my favorite one. This little guy was small but absolutely perfect. I'm going to dry and preserve it and add it in a scrap book "My first mushroom" :inlove3:

Unfortunately no, I'm having some legal issues and I need to stay clean for a while but I gave most of my harvest to people cause sharing is caring.

I did get some feed back though. They went to a psy-party and said they really enjoyed themselves, the trip was very mellow compared to acid and they frequently commented on how "natural" their state was. Visuals were mild, colors were intensified and their state of mind was unexplainable. They just felt really comfortable on them. It lasted 4hours in intensity and then started to come down. I gave them around 30g wet weight

Just harvested this fat guy, he was the last to come out from the first flush. Second flush is underway, 2 pins so far and it's been two days since the dunk. The cake looks disastrous lol
