Is it fine to use the grain water still if you have supplemented with gypsum?

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.
Reason: This is not an Advanced Mycology topic, moved to Cultivation.

Gypsum is healthy for myc, imo it will be a-okay.

Since it makes the water dark and murky, do you think it will be hard to monitor it's progress?

I'm not sure what HLC is but if you wanna make a LC of grain water its fine with gypsum in it as well.
Never thought I'd say this but violet has a lot of info on working with grain water which you may wanna check out

Correct. Gypsum will have a positive impact on your HLC, thus makes the HLC better. In fact, adding supplements and additives to your soak water is the correct way to supplement the HLC. My last HLC's were made with 1:2 parts grain water to plain water, 20% horse manure, and 5% gypsum both by volume. So far, by far, these LC's are the fastest colonizing LC's I have ever seen. Good luck!

Think it's funny how you deny knowing what an "HLC" is, but in the same sentence refer to making a LC out of grain water. You also must not be very observant when the very definition of what an "HLC" is is in the title of the thread you posted in. Furthermore, I am willing to bet dollars to pesos that you have never even done a grain water LC let alone any kind of culturing media made with end of boil cycle grain water. If you are going to claim to have done grain water LC (let alone any type/style of LC for that matter) in your next post, some pictures of fruits you have generated using a grain water LC would be good to see.

I stirred my hamloaf liquid culture today. It is so dense now and I have too much inoculant. i don't have enough jars to use it all and I have 20 other cultures waiting. tough problem to have!
Hamloaf is picking up where Agar/Mycota/6tango left off!
On the side note, my APE HCL jars are just about ready for spawning. I have been extremely lazy to be honest. That was the only thing holding them up. They look great.

Beautiful jars eat. I've got some grain soak water thawing right now that I'm going to use to test out my new LC lids. I used oats and fresh coffee for the soak.
I didn't have gypsum at the time I collected the water but just picked some up yesterday. Do you all think it'd be ok to add the gypsum to the HLC before the pc cycle? Never tried it that way, I assume it'll just dissolve all nice like.
I haven't had the time to build my stir plate yet so these LCs have some pieces of ceramic I just got from a coffee mug that was past his prime and "fell" off the counter a tribute to the cup's sacrifice
I'm going to run my HLCs through with some grain jars I had left over from this mornings work, 2 hour cycle will be fine for the grain water correct?

Sucks. I always like to read posts and responses from all 3 of them. I knew that RR hadn't been logged in for quite some time but didn't know about the other two.
