I don't really think temps are the issue imo. 65F to 75F is the golden zone for colonizing temps, and he says he's at 70F. I think at this point, it's in the mycelium's hands now. Wait and see

I would still try to do something with the cakes, throwing them away when they are so colonized seems like such a waste. and what bacteria do you see? It looks like thick mycelial growth to me. Spacechildo also said my grain jars looked moldy, the same ones that gave me a half pound flush dry and that is no joke. Is everyones jar moldy to you Spacechild or do you not know what bacteria looks like?

Exactly what I was thinking the entire thread. mycellium doesn't slow down it only gets faster if everything is right. If it's looked anything close to that for 2 WEEKS then.....

Moisture content is undoubtedly off, genetics just suck, or it's bacteria if it's been 2 weeks. Which is why it's best to mark the mycelium, and see if it's actually stopped completely. Every batch has fast and slow jars. Patience is best.
I'm sure we've all messed up moisture content or something and let a jar keep going even though we thought it'd fail. These guys are quite strong.
This bacterial jar took over 1 month to take over the last little spot enough for me to call colonized:

Spawned using only the bacterial jar Turned into:

I think I got around an ounce or 2 first flush and it did 2 more semi decent ones.
