Oysters on Wood Mulch? No Pasturization?
    #21745540 - 05/31/15 05:10 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hey guys. I have a raised bed in my garden with a big pile of hardwood mulch beside it. What would the success rate be like if I soaked a barrel full and tossed it in the bed with oyster grain spawn at a 1/2 ratio?

It might work but whenever I've tried using grain spawn outdoors the birds and other critters have torn it up, you may have better luck with sawdust spawn.

maybe layer it in with some soaked and peeled cardboard. that would protect it from birds, and might even keep it hidden from rodents.

Keep us posted if you do it.
