There has been much discussion of Native cultures (Polynesian, Aboriginal, Native Americans, et al) and how they were somehow more special because they arrived before Europeans, yet all emigrated from somewhere else.

What is so special about being the first?

What is so special about not being strong enough to hold on to your lands?

I think if a group of people live in an environment long enough they develop what seem like amazing/special skills.  IMO they have filled out a niche in the ecosystem which allows them to maintain an equilibrium with their environment.

Interesting yes, special, no.  They're just some people like everyone else.
