Dark spots on king oyster stems

Hey everybody- Just checked my kings, they are pinning and all about 1/4" tall. I'm noticing that many of the pins have little dark spots on the stems. They are on arraw logs with the plastic removed. The humidity has been quite high and there is water droplets on the log. Do you think this could be bacterial blotch? Would it help to dry it off with a paper towel or am I doomed?
Thanks

I'd say yes, it is blotch. I've seen mushrooms recover from it (sometimes a discolouration remains) Can you reduce the humidity? For our Kings the FC isn't humidified - the mushrooms just get sprayed three times a day and we haven't had any blotch since our first few batches (which we over watered) Our yields are around 25%

Yes, I've reduced the humidity. It was running at 100% pretty much. I thought too low RH could cause too many aborts. Does this spread? Do I need to deep clean my grow room? I'm going to see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

I think it can be spread by contact but I haven't seen it reoccur (yet! gulp...) in the FC even though we haven't sterilised it since we've seen outbreaks... We case our kings so there is high humidity locally around the pins as they form. Keep us updated! When I first saw it on our mushrooms I was terrified but it seems easier to deal with than I had imagined

Ok I will keep you up to date. What is your casing mix if you don't mind me asking.

Pins growing up but still have some blotch. What do y'all think? Should I toss these logs?

They should be fine, and I would suggest lowering the temperature of the room. I find blotch only grows in 65°f+.

Thanks for the reply, I will try and get the temps down but i don't really have control over it, it's in a grow room in the garage which is pretty cool. The room doesn't often get above 65f.

Ok, well you should be good with just lowering the humidity then. I actually trim away all the smallest pins at that stage, to promote concentrated growth. If there's too many, it can sometimes get overwhelmed and stall. You don't have to do that, but when you lower the humidity they should die on their own anyway.
