First grow - 2nd attempt

First off, let me thank all of you guys for making a fantastic area for knowledge exchange between enthusiasts.
Living in Europe, there was some issues getting Mason jars like the ones you have in the US. I ended up getting Galej glasses from IKEA and using alu-foil as the top. It was also quite hard to find vermiculite, but we found it online eventually. Appreciate what you have in Amazon guys, it just makes stuff like this way easier. Amazon doesnt even ship to where I live. I sterilized using a normal big kettle. No pressure cooker yet.
My "Mason" jars:

First attempt I made the cakes as normal, 2:1:1 with verm, BRF and water. Followed the instructional videos online. Made sure the verm was not wetter that what it was supposed to be. No issues. Had gotten some prints online, and made the syringes myself. My error though, was that I immediately transferred the spore-water over to the cakes. I did not let the spores sit in the syringes for any more than like 10 minutes. I also used way to much water.
Anyway, nothing happens in my cakes. No mycelium growth after 5-6 weeks. And no contamination either. Temps was in the right area. This tells me to things; 1) I've done something wrong, and 2) The process was clean enough that no contam started growing.
Second attempt Finished up the 2nd attempt today. The process was basically the same as the last time, but I made the syringes a few days earlier. And made sure there was a lot of spores in the syringe. I let the syringes sit in my refrigerator for a few days. I'm also using a different strain (Thai Pink Buffalo) and print this time, eliminating the last print used as a source for errors.
Verm, BRF and water.

On the 3rd pic you see the small holes in the alu foil. Its secured with a layer of dry verm. In the syringe pic you see how many spores was left in the syringe. I think maybe I overdid it. And finally, on the last pic, you see all of them in their new warm home.
Wish me better luck this time!

When you say in their warm home what temp do you call warm?
I relize your on a different unit of measure there. 21-23 degrees celsius should be optimal IMHO...
And welcome to the Shroomery.
What part of Europe?

I'm aming for around 27-30 degrees in the inoculation period. Around 80-86 farenheit for the first period. Then lowering the temps then they move into the shotgun box. Around 75f for that period (24C).
Thanks for the welcome! Been luring for a couple of months. The northern parts of Europe.

Most people are incubating closer to 24 degrees now days.. With good results... You might want to try lowering incubattion temps to increase opproyunity for success,IMO. Just keep trying.

Great, thanks for letting me know. Will update when, and if I see anything happening. Keeping the temps somewhere around 23C (75F).

nice!
you should get holes in the bottom and top of your chamber tho! and about 2x the amount of perlite and then elevate the chamber off the floor so air can come up through the bottom.
if you're having problems getting all the stuff you need just PM me or ask here and I'll help

This is a nice grow you got going. You should get. Nice yield with the amount of cakes you have in your sgfc.

did you elevate your chamber? it seems like the FAE is suffering. 4 jars, one in each corner is all you need!

Thanks for the feedback. The chamber is elevated for fae. The shroomites are not currently in my possession, but I think he is misting as required.
More pics! I am very happy and proud

Harvest day of 2nd flush for our PF cakes. This flush outperformed the first flush, due to better growing conditions. Needless to say, I am proud.

Thanks for the cheering folks! They amounted to 42 g (1.5 oz). Combined with the first flush its around 75g (2.6 oz) total now. Dry of course. And I'm aiming for at least 25g for the 3rd flush. So that is a very nice yield for a total noob.
I tripped on them before drying. Ate them fresh and juicy. Started with some, and ate more and more for the next few hours with around 45 mins between eating. Must have eaten around 20-30 g wet. Did not have a scale, just ate as much as I wanted. A very chaotic trip. So much green and lilac colors, flashing before my inner eye. Being bombarded with those colors. My eyes even began to water. I saw a lot of pins growing from spawn to full size in a blink of an eye. All in green. And reptiles, oh so many reptiles. Chinese dragons and the chinese wall for some reason. I even rode a horse as a Mongolinan-type horseman, I felt the warmth and sweat of the animal and the wind in my face. Could it be my sub conscious knowing that these were Golden Teachers, and thus connection it to eastern culture? Could the colors be a preset expectation to tripping on shrooms? I donno. Could not sleep for hours. Not a bad trip, just immensely chaotic, but I still enjoyed it.
And I discovered Tame Impala for the first time while doing all that above. Just by random chance. Checking "new releases" on a music site. All in all a great evening!

Yesterdays yield dried and ready to go. I got a dehumdifyer for this purpose. Some equipment is worth investing in. Next thing has to be a pressure cooker.

And, here we go again! Added some perlite and dunk in 20 hours, roll in nice fine verm. Blended in my kitchen blender.
