Cutting vs Pulling Harvest (Contams)

Just wondering if anyone has noticed if a sub is more prone to contams from cutting vs pulling to harvest. Seems like when trich shows up in one of my tubs it's on a stump from a cut fruit, it seems like the areas that get pulled recover quicker than cut stumps. I get 2 to 3 flushes most of the time before trich shows up but sometimes during second flush, trich will pop up on the stumps from previous flush. What's your guys take on this?

I have never cut my mushrooms, I have always used the twist and pull method. I have never seen any problems with doing it this way and have always been skeptical about cutting for the very reasons that you have mentioned. Never thought about starting a thread about it though. Good idea. 5 for you.

I have noticed the stumps rotting and and falling off before . I don't have pics or any other info . I don't cut very offen and now that I'm doing trays I never cut. Some hedge trimmers would make harvesting trays Hella fast.

When I was still doing mono's, I would use a pair of curved needle nose plyers to twist and pull. It was very efficient in getting in between stipes of a dense flush.

Yeah I do both but mostly twist and pull. I haven't seen a stump go green nor have I seen a rip spot go green haha. It's always the random peeks of mycelium. The surface is never perfectly flat lol.
I don't think it really matters what you do. When the myceliums shit the bed, the mean green will show its face. Its just meant to be.

JESUS
on another note, ive always wondered this, on my first upcoming harvest, I guess I will use the twist/pull, then on the second flush, ill cut and see what happens. I would think cutting and leaving part behind would cause it to rot and possible contam, maybe, just maybe..

At the link provided below is a little way that I developed to harvest dense clusters of fruits. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21071408#21071408 From what is understood, the method that's been developed isn't too far off from how asparagus is harvested.
