Verizon phone Recommendations

I know this fits better in the tech thread, but I feel it's rather dead compared to the pub. I may be switching to Verizon very soon, and need some Android phone recommendations, if the Pub would be so kind.
Memory isn't a huge deal, although I would prefer a phone with a removable battery and a microSD card slot.

Not the galaxy s 6 because it doesn't have USB 3.0
Actually most of the phones out right now don't have usb 3.0 so they're all trash. The S6 also doesn't have removable batteries.
I love my galaxy S 5. I'd recommend it over anything but that's just me.

S6 also doesn't support Sd cards.
Bummer man. I didn't realize most phones didn't have usb 3.0. I can't wait for Usb Type C

Yeah, the guy I was talking to at the store said people didn't like it because "It's too big"
Like mother fucker you could make my charger the size of a pizza box if it charged my phone in 3 seconds flat I'd be down with it.
My phone gets a full charge in under an hour with USB 3.0
Also curved screens. Curved screens are fucking horrible.
It picks up glare from every direction because it's round. You cannot look at a round screen without getting glare.
Phone's are taking steps backwards and I don't get it.

I'd get the HTC m9. I fucking love mine. It has a micro sd slot but I don't think the battery is removable

I had an HTC evo and an evo 3d and they both sucked mad dick.
Granted those phones came out like... 4 years ago? Maybe even more.
I dunno, those phones we're trash though. HTC has come out with a lot of cool shit since then, but I've never forgiven them for those atrocities.

I read a post the basically listed "it was too expensive" over and over again in different ways. The phones are already super expensive as it is. Telecommunication companies come out on top over many other industries when it comes to gross income. They make enough.
Usb type C looks like it will be the cable to end all cables.
I have a cheap HTC now that I used as a replacement to my Ipod Classic. It's terrible, but I'll totally look into the M9

There are worse phones out there than the Iphones, but really all of apples products can lick my left nut.
You know what's worse than apple products? Apple Fans.

I hate how I have to hear about the latest rumors constantly. Rumors or not, they're still behind everyone else when it comes to implementation of new technologies.

I might stray away from the HTC. I like the fact that I know the body will be sturdy, but it'll be heavy. And I don't like phones with batteries that cannot be removed.

Well, it's not so much an issue anymore. Phones used to lock up, and you'd have to remove the battery.
I've had my S5 for a year and a half now, and haven't even taken the battery out. I still like knowing that I CAN take it out if I wanted.

Exactly. Being as I deal with tech (mostly computers) constantly, I've seen just about everything go wrong. Everytime I think I've seen it all, something, or someone, surprises me. Hence why this issue is a selling point for me.

You should check out the nexus 6 also. Again, not sure if the battery is removable, but it's definitely one sexy ass phone

I'm actually looking at the Droid Turbo. It's running faster than my laptop at 2.7Ghz, and it should be getting upgraded to Lollipop 5.1

I haven't used it yet. I'm behind when it comes to phones, I don't usually have the budget for newer phones. Turns out the Nexus 6 and Droid Turbo and almost identical Spec Wise

I have a samsung galaxy s4 that works great. I like being able to take out the battery but at the same time, it's not a deal breaker for me at all. The s6 looks really nice and I'd trade up for one in a second. But I'm on a 35/month prepaid plan, and not going to drop that kind of money on a phone. The s5 seems pretty sweet too though because I believe it's waterproof, isn't it?
I'd still take an iphone 6 over any of them if I was going to spend that kind of money. Much cleaner and more efficient OS. But I'm used to the large screen on the galaxy now and couldn't go backwards to iphone 5 size...
I don't really like android particularly. I mean it works great now, not as buggy as it used to be. But I don't like the way applications will just run on their own and consume battery and send data to external sites constantly. I spend way too much time trying to clear out the caches and close programs running in the background... I use it because the phones are cheap, and I got this used s4 for free as a gift. But I definitely prefer apple software... I have a macbook pro and a macbook air, they're great computers, great for audio.

Just had the realization that if I leave my job, the killer deal will also go with it
I could probably afford to have a regular verizon bill, but I'd much rather spend that money elsewhere. I'm like 3 years behind when it comes to phones though

So it charges quicker due to a higher current rating? That's not really the point of usb 3.0 in the big picture though

It's not the point of it, no, but it IS convenient as fuck and you can't argue with that. My phone can't take more than an hour to charge from 0 to 100 percent.
