I got a Print of some Cambodians and im going to grow outdoors using colonized cracked corn as a starter substrate then later inoculate pasteurized horse poop and straw outdoors. So my exact plan is to make a spore syringe in a still air box that has been sanitized with 91% isopropyl alcohol im going to scrape the spores with a bobby pin (the circle part) into a shot glass then use sterilized water to make the syringe. After 12 hours I will colonize the cracked corn with the syringe. before i do that i will soak the cracked corn in water for 3 days then strain it under a cold water wash then add the cracked corn to a few jars seal the inoculation hole with tin foil (I plan to replace the whole with medical tape because it will not be air tight after the syringe breaks the foil) then i will put it in a pressure cooker for 90 minutes at 15 pi wait till it drops to zero and remove them from the pressure cooker. next i will inoculate the jars in my still air box and wait till its fully colonized.
after full colonization is complete I will dig wholes in the shade 6 inches down (one for every jar that survived this far) and pasteurize the poop and straw. i plan to get some hot water (175 to 200) and soak the poop/straw for one day then use a pillow case to filter and collect in a bag. I will then bring the bag/jars to the wholes and put a bottom layer of poop then straw then substrate then straw poop substrate poop straw. I will make sure its in the shade away from pine trees (something I read said the pine needles make the ground too acidic) and water it when i think it needs it. I live in a place shroomery says cubeinsis grow wild but i have yet to see any (my friend says he found a few one time but i have not been as fortunate) but hopefully it works well im just curios if you guys think this will work or if im doing something wrong.

I'm no expert but somewhere it was mentioned that 70% isopropyl alcohol is better for killing off other spores and bacteria. Something to do with the ability to permeate membranes more easily in the more aqueous solution.

I think he meant he's gonna let it cool for 12 hours after pc. He jumped ahead then backtracked in the paragraph

Yeah he jumped to inoculation then to grain prep. Kinda confusing.

I read you have to let the spores sit in the syringe for at least 12 hours for germination. sorry I never was any good at writing stuff I failed English back in high school.

I read that too but figured higher concentration would work better or the same. Anyone know if it relay is the best (like 100% sure).

Let them sit for a while to hydrate, yes.

But do you guys think this will work or is their a better method to my madness. Im using cracked corn because its cheap and easy to get but is it a good substrate for a noob. Im not using PF tech because it dosent break up as well.

70% Iso/Ethanol is used instead of 100% because 100% alcohol cause protein coats to coagulate instantly, but 70% causes less coagulation, and thus the alcohol can enter the bacterial cell and do the job of killing it. If the protein coat is coagulated fully (in the case of 100%), the alcohol has a much harder time entering the cell.
That said, I usually get 91% because in my area it costs the same as 70%, and 91% does a much better job cleaning the bong
