I believe it is an opuntia monacantha

Someone mentioned that possibly it could be a brasiliopuntia, but it lacks the round trunk. It's height is due to the way I prune it. The second picture is the same clone (I have more clones of this then I know what to do with)

Lemnaminor said: It took me a long time to write this poetry, and I couldn't ever done in another lenguage than Sicilian. the Idea came to my mind the same moment i snapped this photo. My town (should i say village?) is pretty old and rustic. there are plenty of abandoned places and some intresting glimpses. like this. Since Opuntia ficus Indica grows so well in sicily, it's not uncommon to se it growing on the roofs. Just a bird leaving some seeds, a bit of dirt, sun , occasional rains, that's it. translated it loses a lot of it's original content, but i will try do the best ( since i can't really do a translation)
Once upon a time, inside a courtyard there was a wide ancient claypot had a bit of soil inside it's belly but never had a plant inside it's heart layng on the balcony the pot was put there by old lady Titina but in the years, not even the worst opuntia ever laid roots onto his dirt
One beautiful day, enlightned of sun inbetween the shingles appeared from the old roof on green pad of Ficus indica the pot and the pad looked in each other's eyes during the most respectuful silence then the pot took courage and turned the word to the pad
"what are you doing up there, come down here" said the pot, in angry tone "I am alone, and i make the mold you instead, are enjoyng your life" "why should i come down there?" said easily the opuntia pad you can't even imagine the view i won't come down, not even if dead
So the opuntia stood there cause she doesen't want to be imprisoned free in the air, alongside the birds she dominates the roofs, unopposed And she doesent look down there because she's ostile to the clapot she just holds an eye to the city cause she's the queen of the gutters
Yep. it sounds terrible, but i tries to keep the same meaning of the original one. i assure you that the sicilian version sounds really good. pheraps someone want's to make corrections of the english version?
Dude your passion for cacti is aww inspiring

I have a couple of the same clones but I can't remember what the name is. I'll check when things warm up a lil and let you know.

I don't get why people would spend such big money for a pot like this. definitely exaggerated.

My bad. Its a TBM crest grafted to a short spine Peruvianus.

One of my favorite cacti

It's been under the 1000 watt for the last month and a half, and has really liked it. I made the mistake of planting in sand a few years ago, which turned to hard cement, and doesn't allow much root movement, but overall it seems to be happy
